The Streak Lives On!

Stats- TREADMILL Run!
1 mile/9:53
Average pace- 9:53

Well the plan was to get up at 4:15 this morning and run 7 miles with the girls.  What happened...thunder and lightning!  I don't mind a little rain but I don't play with lightning!  So I slept in...and needed that rest!  I knew I could probably make it to the gym this afternoon and get in a mile on the treadmill.  I almost didn't get to run though...I almost broke the streak.  :-(  My hubby gets off from work at noon on Fridays.  I had a lunch date with my friend Paige and planned on running after that.  But once my hubby got home he told me when I got back from lunch he needed to go back to work for awhile.  I started panicking!  I did NOT want to break my streak!!!  I belong to a gym that doesn't have childcare...and I have two boys!  But it all turned out great in the end....my awesome hubby let me go run at the gym while he watched the boys and then he went to work when I got back.  He's so awesome!  I love him!

Anyway, I forgot how different it is to run on a treadmill!  They are not my favorite to run on but desperate times call for desperate measures lol!  I couldn't remember what speed I needed to set it on to run my pace.  I started out at 5.0 and that felt too slow.  So I kept increasing it until I got to 6.5.  I guess it was fairly accurate because my mile was pretty right on.  I'm just glad I got to run!  It wasn't the long run I was aiming for but it was something!

On another note, I went to lunch with Paigey today!  We have not gotten together in so long!!!  It was so awesome to see her and catch up!  And...we ate sushi!!!  Yummy!  We had a feast!

And no I didn't eat all of that!  That is our food together!  We had the Daphne Roll (has crab meat, tuna, cream cheese, eel sauce, and a few other things in it lol), ginger salad, fried rice, and edamame.  It was sooo good!  Loved spending time with Paige!!!

Tomorrow morning I'm volunteering at The Grandman Triathlon here in town!  I'm super excited!  I've never been on this end of an event before...I'm always a participant.  Well...I've never done a triathlon but I'm always a participant in races.  Me and my friends are doing a water station for the run part.  The participants have to swim 1/3 of a mile, then an 18 mile bike ride, and then a 3.1 mile run.  It's a very hilly course for both the bike and run so it's challenging.  I've been a spectator before and it's amazing to watch these athletes accomplish this!  I can't wait till tomorrow!
