Fitness Friday...May 10th Edition!

This week has been crazy! I've had a sick little boy on my hands all week. So that meant no run for me on Tuesday since he was so sick. I've also subbed 3 days this week! Luckily my in-laws were able to help me out and stay with Hayden while I worked. My poor baby had strep throat but he is feeling much better now! I was so happy to see this smile on his face yesterday! I haven't seen it in a few days.

Oh and just because he is sooo cute and has been super cuddly this week...I just have to share this picture of Cullen! He loves to sleep in my arms like a baby...and it was so cute when he was sound asleep with his paws up above his head! I just love him!

Here we are again for another Fitness Friday! As I said...I missed one of my runs this week due to Hayden being sick. Being a mom always comes first. But here's a recap of what I got done this week!

  • Saturday- #plankaday 1:05
  • Sunday- 7 mile run in 1:17:16 average pace 11:02
  • Monday- #plankaday 1:03
  • Tuesday- #plankaday 1:10, 25 burpees
  • Wednesday- #plankaday 1:03
  • Thursday- #plankaday 1:02, 3 mile run in 31:01 average pace 10:20
  • Friday- #plankaday 1:00

I didn't get one of my runs in this week but I can't beat myself up over it. Being a mom has to come first. I had to be there for my sick baby. I really hate it when they are sick and I can't make them feel better. I'm hoping to get some kind of long run in this weekend. I'm not sure how many miles I'm going to do yet...that's what I like about training. You always have a plan. I WILL run though...even if my long run is only 5 or 6 miles. :-)

I want to tell you about a new site called kindrunner.com! This is a new site that will officially launch on June 1st. Their goal is to be an expert running product specialist on the web...they want to bring the knowledge of a local running store online. The people behind Kindrunner are runners that have been in the industry for 40+ years so they know what they are talking about. Basically they are the only place on the web where runners can trade in their old running shoes for new ones. It works like this...you turn in an old pair of shoes and in turn you receive Kindness Cash Rewards for each shoe you turn in. You take the Kindness Cash and use it on anything on the site. Your old shoes that you turn in are sent to their shoe donation partners, including Soles 4 Souls, where the packaging materials are recycled and the shoes are repurposed and given to those in need in countries like Haiti and Western Africa and even here in the US.

Go check out the Kindrunner site as well as their Facebook page, Twitter, and Instagram! They even have a
contest going on right now where you and a friend can win free running shoes (3 pairs each) for a whole year! I know you'll want to check that out!

QOTD: What awesome workout or run did you have this week? What do you think so far about Kindrunner?
