Fitness Friday...August 15th Edition!

Wow this week has gone by fast! I have been so busy getting things ready for the new school year. My students start on Monday!!! This Monday I started back with teacher meetings. My preschool directors always do a great job welcoming us back and making us feel loved and appreciated! Each one of us had this display at our seat on Monday!

Yes that chocolate was so very tempting! There were 3 Rolos in that cup (Rolos are my favorite) and yes I ate them! But I didn't eat anything else out of that cup so I call it a win! ;-)

The preschool also treated us to Chinese food for lunch. We all had a menu and had to choose what we wanted. But...my awesome directors printed out the Chinese restaurant's diet menu for me! Took the temptation right out of there for me which was awesome! I ordered steamed chicken and broccoli. It was yummy! I DID indulge in a fortune cookie though (surprisingly it was only 32 calories)! And here is my fortune! Very appropriate for my change to a healthy lifestyle!

On Tuesday we had meetings with our grade level teachers. And we also had to take First Aid. I will tell you that some of those videos they show are pretty graphic for this girl who doesn't like the sight of blood (and especially not vomit)! I got a little nauseous sitting through that but I made it! ;-)

Tuesday night was Parent Night at our school. I got to meet the parents. And I got to visit with some of my parents from last year...whose children are in my class again this year since I moved up! They all seemed super happy that their child was in my class again...whew! ;-)

Wednesday was Meet the Teacher. So I got to meet my precious students! They all seem super sweet and they are all definitely so cute! I think it's going to be a great year!!!

Wednesday night and Thursday night me and the hubby had parent meetings with each of our boys' new teachers. And today the boys get to go to school and meet their teachers! Busy busy time of year!

My boys were also gone all week staying at their grandparents since I had so much school stuff to do. They left on Sunday night and didn't come home until last night. I missed them so much and I am so glad they are back home! It's too quiet without them! ;-) Me and the hubby did get a few date nights in while they were gone. We ate a nice dinner out one night. And another night we grabbed Subway and had a picnic down by the bay!

Now it's time for Fitness Friday! I'm ready to tell you all about my runs this week! Despite being super busy I made sure to start my day with my run. I reached day 80 of my run streak this week! Wow! I can't believe I've been running for 80 days straight and I'm still enjoying it!!!

  • Thursday- #plankaday 1:15, 3.11 mile run in 27:41 average pace 8:54

Weight loss this week: 1.1 lbs.
Weight loss total: 28.7 lbs.

I felt pretty strong this week with my runs! My planned 1.5 milers turned into 2 milers because I was feeling so great. It's amazing how this weight loss has helped me run faster and made running a little more easier. Thursday morning we got a nice surprise of some cooler temps and lower humidity! It felt amazing out there!

The weight loss seems to have slowed down a little. I still have about 1.5 pounds to lose to reach my goal weight. And then I will start a whole new concept of maintaining my weight. I think it will be a little challenging since maintaining will require me to eat a little more calories. My body has gotten used to eating the amount of calories needed to lose weight. I also want to be sure I'm still making healthy choices. This is a lifestyle change! I do NOT want to go back to the way I was!

Tomorrow I have 9 miles on the schedule! I'm running with my Sole2Soul Sisters so it should be fun! I normally wear a hydration belt on these longer runs but mine is too big so I haven't been wearing it. I have been relying on those water stops we have! This will be my first half marathon without a hydration belt. Hopefully it will be successful!

I hope everyone has a great weekend! It's my last weekend of summer break! I can't believe school starts on Monday!!!

QOTD: What was your best run or workout this week?
