The Weekly Chase #129!

We had a great weekend! It was raining on and off but we tried to make the best of it! On Friday the boys and I went out to lunch at our favorite chicken strip place ever! I have always been a huge fan of chicken strips and this place called Foosackly's is my favorite. Unfortunately we didn't have one in our town so I didn't get to eat there often. But now....my town just opened one!!! Yay!!!

While we were eating some of our friends walked in! They sat with us and we ended up talking for at least an hour! Then we decided to go for a walk at Alligator Alley! We didn't see alligators this time but we did see lots of crabs! It was a fun impromptu afternoon with friends!!!

Later that night we had family game night! Monopoly was the game...and this momma was winning!!! (I owned Boardwalk and Park Place...which I don't remember ever owning!!!). We are still in the process of this game lol!

Saturday morning I ran 5 miles with Jenny and Andria! I'll recap that for you on Wednesday!

I drank my coffee after the run and watched The Little Mermaid with the boys. (Don't you just LOVE my Epcot mug??!!)

The rest of the day was spent cleaning and organizing! My computer desk was super messy and I went through everything on it and did lots of throwing stuff away and cleaning. I also organized my kitchen. Does anyone else accumulate junk everywhere in their house? Well I've told my family NO MORE! Hopefully it will last!

I needed a little break from the chaos so I headed for Starbucks! I didn't realize these clouds were going to fall out of the sky on my drive there!

It didn't stop us though. We just went through the drive thru!

Later that afternoon I took a trip to Target and got some things to redo the boys' bathroom. Their bathroom was still decorated with rubber ducks and frogs from when they were babies. I decided on something more grown up but not too kid like for them. Luckily they loved my choices! Next I will add in some blue towels to complete the look!

Sunday I wore my new dress to church! I bought it at Target and LOVE it! Before my weight loss I would have never worn a dress in this style. And I have always LOVED stripes and am so glad I can wear them again! :-) And I never turn down a photo opp with my boys! I'm so blessed to be their mom!!!

Now it's time for the Weekly Chase! It's a new week and I have new goals to achieve! I hope you will link up your own goals with me too! And feel free to use the badge below in your post too! You can grab the badge HERE! :-)

Road Runner Girl

Here are my goals from last week!

  • Goal #1: Run every day! Yes! And I hit day 400 of my run streak yesterday!!!
  • Goal #2: Roll, stretch, and ice daily. Yep! I rolled and stretched every day but didn't ice every day.
  • Goal #3: Maintain my weight by logging my calories. Yes! I have been doing really well logging all my foods this week. There was one day where I didn't log a dessert at a friend's house because I wasn't sure of the calories. But I knew I had the calories left to eat it.
  • Goal #4: Incorporate some weight training into my routine. Yes. I've been doing my June challenge of planks, squats, crunches, and push-ups!
  • Goal #5: Clean up the guest bedroom. No. I didn't get to this. I DID clean up clutter around the house though and I'm proud of that!
  • Goal #6: Finish unpacking from Disney. Yes!

Here are my goals this week!

Goal #1: Run every day! Of course I'm keeping the streak alive this week!

Goal #2: Roll, stretch, and ice daily. Gotta keep this up and stay injury free!

Goal #3: Maintain my weight by logging my calories. I've worked too hard to gain weight back. The key is being consistent and having a plan!

Goal #4: Incorporate some weight training into my routine. My challenge will end on Tuesday. I will admit that I'm so tired of squats! I'm going to take a few rest days and then look for another challenge!

Goal #5: Clean up the guest bedroom. Got to get this done! Stephanie and her kids will be here Friday night!!!!! :-)

Goal #6: Plan out July 4th. I don't remember the last time we've been home for July 4th. We've always gone to a friend's house or been with Andy's parents. This year Stephanie and her kids will be visiting us so we will be at home. I know we will be walking across the street to see the fireworks. I need to plan out the meals for the day!

So that's my plan for this week! I've got lots to do to get ready for company! But I'm soooo excited that my best friend Stephanie and her kids will be with us for two weeks!!! It's going to be a blast!!!

Good luck with your goals this week!

Fitness Friday...June 26th Edition!

Ok...so is June really almost over??? That means we are halfway through summer vacation! It's going by way too fast! We still have a few things to look forward to. My friend Stephanie (that we went to visit in California last summer) is coming with her kids to visit us for two weeks!!!! I can't WAIT to see her again!!! Andy's brother and his wife that live in Virginia are coming for a week in August. We will be doing lots of beach time with them while they are here. Fun things ahead for sure!

This week was a week of readjusting to routine. Well...I don't have much of a routine right now since it's summer vacation for me but you still have to adjust to being back home when you get back from vacation. Not to mention you have to catch up on sleep. While in Disney I woke up around 2 hours earlier than everyone else so I could run. That and walking tons in the parks wore me out! Luckily it didn't catch up to me until I got back home. I've been relaxing and catching up on sleep this week. I feel like I'm almost back to normal!

On Monday Andy and I attended a funeral for his boss who had cancer. He passed away while we were in Disney. :-( It wasn't a fun day for sure. Because of this Andy's office was closed for the day so it gave us one last day of vacation. We didn't do much but it was nice to have that extra day. The boys did have some sprinkler on the trampoline fun! :-)

On Tuesday the boys and I met Jenny and her children Sawyer and Lily at the movies. We saw Disney's Inside Out! If you haven't seen it it's a MUST! It was sooo good!

And then anytime Jenny and I are together a visit to Starbucks is in order!

Wednesday was a day of running a few errands. It was also an off and on again rainy day. We did manage a short nature walk before a thunderstorm. Funny story...we saw this sign. But we didn't see any of those animals. Instead we saw a mouse and HUGE black grasshoppers. We had to walk past the grasshoppers and all of us were afraid they were going to jump on us! It was hilarious!!!

Thursday we went to my friend Lora's house to swim and play. We had a blast!

Now it's time for Fitness Friday! I got in all my runs this week! It was so hot! Summer is definitely here! I slept in a few days and realized I couldn't do that. It's a must to get up early to run and beat the heat.

  • Sunday- #plankaday 2:30, 180 crunches, 30 push-ups, 115 crunches, 1.77 mile run in 14:38 average pace 8:16

  • Monday- #plankaday 3:02, 185 squats, 120 crunches, 2.16 mile run in 17:37 average pace 8:09

  • Tuesday- #plankaday 3:00, 190 squats, 30 push-ups, 125 crunches, 2.16 mile run in 17:38 average pace 8:09

  • Wednesday- #plankaday 3:30, 35 push-ups, 1.67 mile run in 14:01 average pace 8:24

  • Thursday- #plankaday 3:32, 220 squats, 35 push-ups, 130 crunches, 2.16 mile run in 17:56 average pace 8:19

The runs went well this week. Like I mentioned earlier, it's hot. But getting up earlier helps tremendously.

I've been working hard at my strength training challenge this month. I'm not going to lie though...I'm ready for it to be over! I'm tired of squats and crunches! The push-ups aren't too bad though. I'm actually liking those! I guess because I would have never guessed I could do 30 push-ups before this challenge. Feels great!

This weekend I'm hoping to get a longer run in. At least 5-6 miles. It's too hot for anything any longer lol!

I hope you have a great weekend!
