Fitness Friday...September 30th Edition!

Happy Friday y'all!!! This week was pretty great since we were still on vacation on Monday and traveling back on Tuesday! But reality set back in on Wednesday. I can handle only 3 days of work though lol!

On Monday we were in Universal Studios! Although we discovered we are definitely Disney people! We tried to make the best of it though.

I am planning on doing a couple of picture blog posts about our Disney and Universal Studios days in the near future so stay tuned for that!

Tuesday was a day of driving back home. We left Orlando fairly early because we wanted to be home in time to pick Archie up from the vet where he was being boarded. He was so excited to see us...and we were so excited to see him!!!! And then we came home to sweet Cullen who my sweet neighbor took care of for us. He was happy to see us too...and vice versa! I love my fur babies!!!

Wednesday I headed back to work. It was a busy day because I had a field trip to the library with my preschoolers! But it was fun!

Thursday after school we had disaster training. I can't say that it was fun lol!

And did y'all know that yesterday was National Coffee Day???!!! I just LOVE this filter on Snapchat!!!

Now it's time for Fitness Friday! I got in all my runs while we were in Disney! I did not get in a long run of course but we did plenty of walking around the parks so I'm sure I got in enough mileage lol! I didn't do any strength training this week though since we were out of town for a lot of it.

  • Friday- 2.5 mile run in 20:37 average pace 8:09
  • Saturday- 2.1 mile run in 17:33 average pace 8:17, walk around Hollywood Studios
  • Sunday- 2.3 mile run in 18:39 average pace 8:16, walk around Magic Kingdom and Epcot
  • Monday- 2.3 mile run in 18:24 average pace 8:06, walk around Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios
  • Tuesday- 2.3 mile run in 18:52 average pace 8:14
  • Wednesday- 2.5 mile run in 20:17 average pace 8:00
  • Thursday- 2.5 mile run in 20:20 average pace 8:06

I had a great week of runs! It was fun running in a different place this week!

This weekend I have my last really long run for my half marathon in 2 weeks! I am planning on running 12 miles! I'm hoping for a great run! It looks like the weather is going to be a little cooler so that will help!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!

Fitness Friday...September 23rd Edition!

Happy happy Friday y'all!!! Guess where I am??? I'm on my way to Disney!!!! Well....if you're reading this after around 8AM then I am! We had to wait until after then to leave because that's the earliest we could drop Archie off at our vet for boarding. Can I tell you that I am so sad we are having to board him?! Why can't he come see Mickey Mouse too??!!

This week was SO SLOW!!! I think because I was so excited about leaving for vacation lol!

On Monday I had a dentist appointment for my teeth cleaning. But I checked out great...no cavities...yay!!!

Tuesday I went on a field trip to the art museum with Hayden! We had so much fun! But I had to ride the school bus...and y'all! It is SO HOT on school buses! Not to mention I get car sick so I was a little worried. Luckily I only got a little queasy on the way there. On the way back I was fine other than sweating to death lol!

Here Hayden is in the play exhibit where he got to touch everything! All the other exhibits were hands off lol!

The rest of my week was busy getting sub plans done for work. It is way more work for a teacher to be off! And I also had to pack!

Archie decided one night at dinner to get in his crate all by himself! He looked so comfy in there! Usually he lays at our feet under the table during dinner time!

Now it's time for Fitness Friday! I got in all my runs for my run streak of course! And I only got in 1 strength training session but it's better than none. Hopefully when we get back from Disney I can make strength training more of a routine. I love it but it's been hard since I started back to work.

  • Friday- 2.5 mile run in 19:49 average pace 7:50
  • Sunday- 2.5 mile run in 21:37 average pace 8:37
  • Monday- 2.5 mile run in 20:32 average pace 8:09
  • Tuesday- 2.5 mile run in 20:23 average pace 8:06
  • Wednesday- 2.5 mile run in 20:09 average pace 8:01, Strength training: BodyPump

  • Thursday- 2.5 mile run in 20:23 average pace 8:06

So that was my week! I had a great week of runs! New shoes help!

My long run this past week was awesome too! This week I'm taking a rest from a long run since I will be in Disney. I'll be getting in plenty of mileage there for sure!

I hope you all have a great weekend! Be patient with my blog as I probably won't get to post while I'm in Disney. I'll share all our fun with you when I get back!

Gulf Coast Half Marathon Training Week 5!

Currently training for:
Gulf Coast Half Marathon SAVE 15% with the code RRGIRL
Senior Bowl Charity Run 10K
Battleship 12K
SAVE 15% with the code RRGIRL
Double Bridge Run 15K

This week 11 miles was on the schedule! I was looking forward to this run! I even decided to continue the same route I had been doing. I just needed to add in one more neighborhood to get in the extra mile I needed. It was also so convenient using my friend's house as a double water stop so I planned for that again.

The only thing...on Friday afternoon I started getting a scratchy throat. That made me not feel too good. It didn't surprise me because everyone in my family has had it but me. So I guess it was my turn. That made me a little worried about the next day's run. But I knew I would still get it done regardless.

I woke up with the same scratchy throat. But it wasn't going to stop me. I didn't have any fever...just the sore throat. So I headed out for my run. I woke up early so it was pretty dark when I started running.

The first 2 miles were in the total dark so I couldn't take any pictures. But once I hit my first neighborhood I tried!

Before I knew it I had made it to my second neighborhood which was mile 3...and my first water stop. I drank half my bottle of water and then continued running.

The next part of the run was down the road I hate to run on. It's so long and seems never ending. But it was a must to get in the mileage I needed.

Around mile 4 the sun was trying to peek through. But it was pretty cloudy. Rain was predicted for the day.

I made it to the new part of the route...the additional neighborhood. Then it was time to turn around and run back. I was feeling pretty good despite my throat hurting. My legs felt great. And I was focused. It had also started to rain some. It was just a light sprinkle but it felt great!

Mile 8 was my second stop for water. Then I was headed home!

Before I knew it I had made it 11 miles! I had done it...even with a sore throat! And in the rain! Yay!!!

I was so glad to get this run done! This next weekend will be a complete long run rest weekend for me since we will be in Disney (don't worry I will still get in my short runs for my streak). So I needed this run to go well!

QOTD: What is the longest mileage you train for before a half marathon? I've done training plans that only went to 10 miles and some that went to 12.

The Weekly Chase #192!

Happy Monday y'all! I'm super excited for this week! On Tuesday, I'm going on a field trip with Hayden! Then on Friday....WE ARE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!!! :-) Just a tad bit excited here in my household! ;-)

But...I have a lot to do to get ready! ;-)

This weekend was spent around the house. Unfortunately I started getting a scratchy throat on Friday afternoon that has turned into a cold or allergies. I'm hoping to be feeling much better by the time we leave on Friday. But I spent the weekend trying to rest as much as I could.

Friday I got a cute picture of Archie and Cullen sitting near each other! They get along pretty well! They have even started to play together some but Archie far outlasts Cullen lol!

Friday night we enjoyed our weekly pizza dinner! I had to carb up for the next morning's run!

I was a little worried about my long run since I wasn't feeling 100% but I got my 11 miles done and it was a pretty good run! I'll tell you more about it on Wednesday!

Saturday was a rainy day. We didn't do much since I wasn't feeling all that great. We DID get in a car ride to Petco with Archie! He LOVES riding in the car!

We also decided to venture out for some dinner. We ended up at our favorite mexican restaurant and Andy and I shared chicken, steak, and shrimp fajitas! So yummy!

Sunday morning I took Archie with me on my run! I haven't been taking him on the weekday mornings because it's gotten so dark out and I can't see any dangers ahead (like other dogs or people heading towards us that he may lunge at). And I don't take him on my long runs since they are so long. So Sundays seem to be our run days together for now.

The rest of the day was spent getting ready for this week...laundry, etc. And more resting for me.

I did get in a Starbucks run! When I walked in my favorite barista was there and he made me and Andy's frappuccinos trentas! So sweet!

I also got in our nightly walk with Archie! I love these walks with my hubby and Archie!

Now it's time for the Weekly Chase! It's a new week and I have new goals to achieve! I hope you will link up your own goals with me too! And feel free to use the badge below in your post too! You can grab the badge HERE! :-)

Road Runner Girl

Here are my goals from last week!

  • Goal #2: Roll, stretch, and ice daily. 50%. I didn't roll every day but I did roll some!
  • Goal #3: Maintain my weight by logging my calories. Yes!
  • Goal #4: Move 11,000 steps or more each day this week. Yes!
  • Goal #5: Run at least 1 run under 2 miles. Nope. :-(
  • Goal #6: Take at least one walk this week. Yes!
  • Goal #7: Strength train at least 2 times this week. 50%. I got in one strength training session this week. Andy and I did BodyPump one night!
  • Goal #8: Call and reserve boarding for Archie. Yes! It's going to break my heart leaving him to go to Disney but we are boarding him at our vet so I know he will be in good hands.
  • Goal #9: Write letter to principal about boys' absences for Disney. Yes! And their absences were thankfully approved!
  • Goal #10: Start working on sub plans for when I am in Disney. Yes! I started on the plans but need to complete them.

Here are my goals for this week!

Every week goals:

Goal #1: Run every day!
Goal #2: Roll, stretch, and ice daily.
Goal #3: Maintain my weight by logging my calories.
Goal #4: Move 11,000 steps or more each day this week.

Goal #5: Run at least 1 run under 2 miles.
Goal #6: Take at least one walk this week.
Goal #7: Strength train at least 2 times this week.

Goal #8: Pack for Disney. I need to get everything packed for our 5 days in Disney!

Goal #9: Finish sub plans. I need to get everything ready for my sub while I'm gone. As a teacher it is a lot of work to be off!

So that's the plan this week. Most of it will be revolved around getting ready for our trip. I hope you all have a great week conquering your goals!

We won't be back until Tuesday so I won't have a weekly chase post next week. It will be back the following week though I promise! ;-)

QOTD: What goals are you chasing this week?

Fitness Friday...September 16th Edition!

Happy Friday y'all! This week seemed to take forever!!! I'm so glad the weekend is finally here! But...it seems the week days go by slow but the weekends go by so fast! Why can't that be in reverse??!!

But...I DID get new running shoes this week!!!! I LOVE getting new running shoes! And they feel so great on my feet and while I'm running!

I'm a lover of Lock Laces and the gray/silver ones look great with this shoe!

This week was also our friend Jim's birthday! We went out for a birthday dinner at Rock 'n' Roll Sushi! So yummy!

Then of course a birthday cupcake for dessert! So glad we got to celebrate with him!

This week Andy and I also did BodyPump with our friends Kirstin and Jim! I just LOVE that class! And I was sore afterwards which always makes me happy knowing I got in a good workout!

This week I also got to teach with my friend Lora who was subbing for my co worker Holly! Although we had a hectic day in the 2 year old class I enjoyed working with her!

And I can't leave you without a picture of Archie! He is always right by my side when I get home from work! So sweet! But then...Andy comes home lol! So I enjoy the time while I can lol!

Now it's time for Fitness Friday! I had a great week of runs and workouts this week! But...I'm so ready for some cooler weather! Looking back on my Timehop this time last year there were morning temps in the 50's! I NEED those temps now lol!

  • Friday- 2.4 mile run in 19:39 average pace 8:09
  • Sunday- 2.5 mile run in 21:38 average pace 8:35

  • Monday- 2.4 mile run in 19:35 average pace 8:08
  • Tuesday- 2.5 mile run in 20:18 average pace 8:04
  • Wednesday- 2.5 mile run in 19:59 average pace 7:58, Strength training: BodyPump

  • Thursday- 2.5 mile run in 20:04 average pace 7:58

It was a great week of runs! I was pretty excited that two of my runs had average paces in the high 7's! I haven't seen that pace in a while! I'm thinking it's because of the new shoes!!!

This weekend I have 11 miles on the schedule!!! I'm hoping for another great run!!!

Happy weekend y'all!!!
