BAMR Bands Giveaway!

Disclaimer: BAMR Bands sent me this product to review. I received no other compensation. All opinions are mine and mine alone!

If you've been reading my blog for awhile you know I LOVE my running skirts (remember you can get 15% off with the code roadrunnerskirt) and headbands! My favorite headbands are BAMR Bands! Katie sent me three awesome bands this month that I absolutely love!

Red and White Minnie (will be released Feb. 1st): This one will definitely be going with me to Disney in January for Marathon Weekend!
Auburn Tigers: Katie knows that's my team!
Autumn Argyle: Because this one is super cute!

Reasons I LOVE BAMR Bands:

  • For every band purchased $1 goes to the charity Every Mother Counts!
  • The inside velvet lining keeps the band from slipping
  • Most bands are only $10 plus $2.50 for shipping...so they are the cheapest ones out there
  • They are handmade by Katie...who is just awesome!

I wear these headbands every time I run! You may remember certain races and times when I wore them.

At the Gulf Coast Half Marathon with my friend Paige!

At the Turkey Trot Fun Run with my family!

At the Senior Bowl Charity Run 10K!

And just a normal run!

Yes...I'm addicted to BAMR Bands and I'm not afraid to admit it!!! ;-)

Katie was awesome enough to let me host another giveaway! Winner can pick the pattern they want (based on availability). Open to US and Canada only. Enter below for your chance to win (please follow all the guidelines...I will be checking)!

Good luck!!!

BAMR Bands Review and Giveaway!

Disclaimer: BAMR Bands sent me this product to review. I received no other compensation. All opinions are mine and mine alone!

If you've been reading my blog for awhile then you know one of my must have running accessories are headbands! And the cuter the better! I honestly don't ever run without a headband. I love them!

One of my fellow FitFluential ambassadors, Katie, has started her own headband adventure with BAMR (Bada$$ Mother Runner) Bands! And let me just say that she has some of the cutest patterns I've seen! I was lucky enough to win one of her BAMR Bands from Girls Gone Sporty and picked out the black and white chevron one. I wear it ALL the time!

When given the opportunity to review BAMR Bands I was so excited! Katie asked me to pick out which pattern I wanted. I couldn't pick out just one! I loved them all! I was really fond of the chevron patterns so Katie sent me the neon orange chevron one!

I was so excited because I had a neon orange running shirt in my closet and the band matched it perfectly!

(As seen after a sweaty run!)

The best feature of these bands are that they are lined with a velvet ribbon that causes them to not slip! There's nothing worse than wearing a headband on a run that slips off your head while you're running! These stay in place and keep all those hair flyaways out of my eyes!

I also love that $1 of every band purchased goes to the charity Every Mom Counts...a charity aiming to help "end preventable deaths caused by pregnancy and childbirth around the world."

All bands (unless otherwise noted) are $10 plus $2.50 shipping.  That makes them the cheapest headbands out there! And...they are all homemade by Katie herself!

Make sure to check out the BAMR Band Shop! And like them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to see new patterns as they become available!

I have so many BAMR Band patterns on my wishlist!!!

Katie has graciously offered two of my readers a BAMR Band!!! Winners can pick the pattern they want (based on availability). Open to US and Canada only. Enter below for your chance to win (please follow all the guidelines...I will be checking)!

March 5 by the 5th Virtual Race!

As you know one of my 2013 running resolutions is to run Laura's 5 by the 5th Virtual Race Series each month until June. In January I ran the Resolution Run as my 5 by the 5th. In February I ran the Tackle the Miles 5K as my 5 by the 5th. But in March I didn't have another virtual race so I dedicated this run ALL to 5 by the 5th!

I missed my weekly run with the girls (Therapy Thursday) because I had to sub. So I had to run Friday solo. This was one of those mornings where I really didn't want to run. I was not looking forward to running by myself. I was not looking forward to running a short run (remember I love running long distances so much more than short distances). I really tried talking myself out of this run but knew I needed to run it since I had the Seaside Half Marathon on Sunday. So I got on my running clothes and strapped on my running shoes and headed out the door.

The first mile was torture. It was chilly and windy outside so I opted to wear capri pants instead of my beloved running skirt. Yeah...big mistake. The first mile I kept having to hike up my pants because they were falling down! Finally I got sweaty enough and they started to stick to my body and stop falling down.

Mile two I started warming up. The run didn't seem quite as bad. I was starting to feel glad that I had gotten out there. And I was running at a fairly fast pace for me!

Mile three I was sooooo glad I got out there and did this run! I felt great!

Of course I know that I will ALWAYS feel better after a run and I will ALWAYS be glad I got out there and did it. But sometimes it's hard to convince your mind of that when you are wanting to be lazy.

I was super happy with this run....and my average pace was 9:56! That's fast for me! Yay!

Oh and one more thing...don't you just LOVE my new chevron BAMR Band??? It makes me so happy!!!! :-)

QOTD: Do you ever have that battle about not wanting to go for a run?
