Every new year people make some kind of resolution. What is a resolution? According to Google a resolution is "a firm decision to do or not to do something." Let's be FIRM in those resolutions this year and stick to them!!!
So do ya wanna know what my running resolutions and goals are this year? I hope so because I'm going to tell you! ;-)
I plan to run and run and run this year! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I stay injury free this year! Some of my fellow bloggers have made this goal easier for me to succeed...they have presented running challenges and I've committed! Here are my running resolutions for 2013!
Resolution #1: 5 by the 5th Virtual Race Series. This is a virtual race series hosted by Laura from Mommy Run Fast in which you run a 5K or 5 miles by the 5th of each month. It runs from January to June. I just love all the 5's she used...5K, 5 miles, 5th of each month, for 5 months!
This race starts today with Amanda from Run to the Finish's Resolution Run! I will be running this today! And it's not too late for you to join in on the 5 by the 5th race series!!!
Resolution #2: 13 in 2013. This is a challenge hosted by Jill from Jill Conyers and Jen from Marathon Mom. It is a challenge in which you run 13 virtual or real races this year (2013). You can tackle 13 5K's, 10K's, half marathons, marathons, trail runs, or a variety of all of them! I am choosing 13 variety races...although I'm hoping most of them will be half marathons. Jill and Jen are also hosting 6 virtual runs to help you make your goal!
Here are the races I am planning on running thus far:
1. Resolution Run
2. Walt Disney World Marathon
3. Seaside Half Marathon
4. Azalea Trail Run 10K
5. Gulf Coast Half Marathon on Pensacola Beach
6. St. Jude Memphis Half Marathon
So I have almost half the races planned. I know I will do some virtual races too to help make my 13. I am super excited about this!!! I know it will be quite an accomplishment when I achieve it!
2013 is gonna be EPIC!!!!
