Fitness Friday...January 20th Edition!

Happy Friday y'all! I know my blog has been quiet lately. As most of you know...I have recently started a new business selling LuLaRoe clothing. There is a waiting period from the time you sign up to the time you get your call to become official. I've been so busy getting ready and apologize for the lack of blogging I've been doing.

But I'm super happy to announce....that I got my call last Friday (yes it was Friday the 13th) and am now an official LuLaRoe Fashion Retailer!!!

I went to Costco with my friend Kirstin to buy hangers for all my inventory last weekend! We had so much fun!

Kirstin is wearing the Julia dress and I'm wearing the Amelia dress! So comfy and cute!

I'll be doing weekly sales so be sure to join my group on Facebook to stay in tune with everything
going on!

And here are all my other Social Media channels for LuLaRoe if you want to follow me there too! I'd appreciate it!!!

I'm super excited because my initial inventory is supposed to arrive this afternoon!!!! It's gonna be a busy weekend of unpacking it all and photographing it all! So fun!

This week was nice since we had Monday off and only had to work and go to school four days. Don't you wish every weekend was a 3 day weekend??!!

The boys had school pictures this week and got to be out of uniform. They are pretty handsome in my book!!!

Now it's time for Fitness Friday! I got in all my runs this week of course! No strength training since I've been so busy in the afternoons with LuLaRoe. I need to somehow work that back into my schedule.

  • Friday- 2.3 mile run in 18:08 average pace 8:00
  • Saturday- 11.1 mile run in 1:36:52 average pace 8:46
  • Sunday- 2.6 mile run in 21:23 average pace 8:06
  • Monday- 2.6 mile run in 20:59 average pace 7:58
  • Tuesday- 2.6 mile run in 21:18 average pace 8:04
  • Wednesday- 2.1 mile run in 16:35 average pace 8:03
  • Thursday- 2.3 mile run in 18:11 average pace 8:01

So that was my week of runs! I reached day 972 this week! Getting close to 1000 y'all!!!!

This weekend is taper time! I'll be running 6-8 miles tomorrow. Then next weekend I'll be running Big Beach Half Marathon and the weekend after I'll be running Rock 'n' Roll New Orleans Half Marathon! Gonna be fun!

I hope you all have a great weekend! It's supposed to rain all weekend here but that's ok because I'll be busy photographing and organizing all the LuLaRoe inventory!!!

Fitness Friday...January 13th Edition!

Happy Friday the 13th y'all! I'm so excited because....it's a 3 day weekend!!! Yay!!!!

We went from super super cold weather to temps in the 70's this week! I will say...the warmer temps are my favorite! This southern girl does NOT like the cold y'all!

Because it was super cold we got Archie a jacket to wear on walks! He LOVES it and looks so cute in it!

Andy also got my Christmas present from the in-laws all hung! My father-in-law built me some shelves for my Starbucks You Are Here Collection Mugs! I LOVE them! But I need more shelves lol! I still have more mugs that aren't displayed lol! But it's a great start!

Since it was warmer this week I wore my LuLaRoe Amelia with my Sarah sweater to school one day! Super cute and comfy!

This week was also honors awards ceremonies at the boys' school. Sawyer didn't make it this time but Hayden made ALL A's!!! SO proud of him!

And on Thursday afternoon I saw that people with MY sign up date were starting to get their calls from LuLaRoe! I decided to drink out of my Starbuck Magic Kingdom mug that afternoon in hopes that some of the magic would fall on me and LuLaRoe would call! And don't you love my new leggings??!! I'm loving anything paisley right now!

Now it's time for Fitness Friday! I had a great week of runs! I hit day 965 of my run streak this week! Due to the extreme cold and possibility of ice I didn't do a long run this weekend. So I've got to get it done this weekend!

  • Friday- 2.6 mile run in 21:23 average pace 8:08
  • Saturday- 2.7 mile run in 21:24 average pace 7:55
  • Sunday- 2.7 mile run in 21:11 average pace 7:48
  • Monday- 2.6 mile run in 21:18 average pace 8:06
  • Tuesday- 2.6 mile run in 21:15 average pace 8:03
  • Wednesday- 2.6 mile run in 21:29 average pace 8:08
  • Thursday- 2.5 mile run in 20:18 average pace 8:01

It was a great week of runs! I froze the first part of the week and wore tons of layers! Then the last part of the week I was back to wearing short sleeves, tanks, and skirts! The love of living on the Gulf Coast!!!

Like I mentioned above...I have to run a long run this weekend! My goal is 11 miles.

I hope you all have a great weekend!!!

The Joys of an At Home Gym!

Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Kohl's. I was provided with product and compensation. All the opinions are mine and mine alone.

One of the biggest reasons people don't work out is because of lack of time. We can always find reasons or excuses to not work out: not enough time, too tired, want to watch tv and relax, can't afford a gym membership. The list could go on and on! But like anything in life...you have to work hard to get results. You have to make time for those things that are important to you.

Kohl's makes it a little easier for us all to find that time to work out. What if you don't have to go anywhere to get in that workout? What if you can workout from the comfort of your own home?

I know what you're thinking...what about the cost? Gym equipment is expensive! Well...I'm happy to say that Kohl's offers some amazing exercise equipment at a very affordable cost!

So...what exactly do you need for an at home gym? I believe it only takes a few pieces of equipment to have your own at home gym! You need cardio equipment. I recommend having at least 2-3 different pieces of equipment. You want to be able to vary your workouts. Doing the same thing every time you work out will not surprise your muscles. You need to keep your body guessing in order to see results!

Kohl's provided me with 3 different pieces of cardio equipment...an exercise bike, a rowing machine, and an elliptical. They also provided me with a recovery piece of equipment...the BacTrack Back Massager.

The exercise bike is one of the pieces of equipment that I don't particularly care for. I think it's boring to be honest. But this ProForm Desk X-Bike Exercise Bike comes with a desk! So I could read my book or watch a movie or blog...all the while exercising! It makes it much less boring!

And if you don't want the desk...it detaches very easily!

The display shows you the time, speed, distance, calories, and pulse (shows your heart rate in beats per minute if you are using the heart rate monitor).

This bike was pretty simple to set up. My hubby had no problems putting it together! And it took him less than an hour!

I love that this bike doesn't take up a ton of room. Since it's in my house I don't want it to take up too much space.

I was also provided with the Stamina Magnetic Rowing Machine. This one is my husband's favorite! He loves that rowing is a full body workout! This one was also pretty easy to put together.

One of my favorite features is that this rowing machine will stand up to decrease the amount of space it takes up.

The display shows you the total number of strokes, time, distance, calories burned, and the rowing speed.

My favorite piece of equipment is the ProForm Easy Strider Elliptical! I've always loved ellipticals and this one is just as good as the ones I've used at the gym!

This one took a little longer to set up but it was still fairly easy.

This elliptical has front mech ellipticals so it takes up less space than the rear ones do. It also has wheels that make it super easy to move. I store it a certain way but when I use it I move it a bit so I can see the TV!

This elliptical is iPod compatible so you can also listen to music while using it! And it has an 8 week weight loss program built in! There are 18 preset workouts...nine weight loss and nine performance workouts! The preset workouts will automatically change the resistance of the pedals as it guides you through the workout.

My favorite part....it has a fan built in! So when you start getting sweaty and hot you can turn the fan on to help you cool off some!

The display shows calories, distance, pulse (when using the heart rate monitor), resistance, speed, time, and a track.

After working out it is important to stretch. I also believe in massage to help relieve sore muscles. Kohl's sent me the BackTrac Back Massager to help with this! I've been doing this every day and it really helps! Hurts so good!!!

So what is the price for this home gym? Believe it or not...Kohl's has all of this equipment on sale for reasonable prices! Think of how much money you will save (rather than paying a gym membership fee every month) when everything you need is in your home!

Exercise Bike: $199.99 (regular $249.99)
Rowing Machine: $191.99 (regular $319.99)
Elliptical: $426.99 (regular $449.99)
BackTrac Massager: $99.99

So for less than $1000 you can have your own gym in the comfort of your home! You can workout at any time of your choosing (don't have to wait for gym hours). You can even work out in your pajamas and no one will know!

A bonus to having a home gym...your kids will want to workout too! It warms my heart to see them using the equipment instead of sitting on the couch playing video games!

I'm so looking forward to be able to workout at any time in the comfort of my own home!

Let's start off the new year right....#MakeYourMove with some exercise!!!

Fitness Friday...January 6th Edition!

Happy Friday y'all!!! It has been a great week! We were still out of school on Monday and Tuesday and went back on Wednesday. I'm thankful it was a 3 day work week! It helped with getting back into the routine! But I'm not gonna lie...I'm so thankful it's now the weekend!!!

Monday was a rainy day so we didn't do a whole lot. Andy was still off of work...yay! We DID go to BodyPump at the gym with our friends Kirstin and Jim!!! Then we went back to their house for some yummy New Year's Day Dinner leftovers! (Our friends love to feed us...and we love to eat their food lol)

Tuesday we met friends for lunch and a movie! We were trying to live it up on our last day of vacation before school started back! We saw Moana...it was really good!!!

Wednesday it was back to school and work. Boo! But we survived! LuLaRoe leggings helped me stay comfy with my preschoolers!

Sawyer's homework that night was to write his New Year's Resolutions! He talked about gymnastics (of course)! And then he said the funniest thing! One of his resolutions is to not eat as much cheese lol! We've told him so many times that he eats too much cheese! I guess it stuck lol!

Now it's time for Fitness Friday! I had a great week of runs! And I got in at least one session of strength training this week! I'm calling that a win!!!

  • Friday- 2.7 mile run in 21:26 average pace 8:04
  • Saturday- 10.1 mile run in 1:27:21 average pace 8:41
  • Sunday- 2.8 mile run in 22:06 average pace 8:03
  • Monday- 2.7 mile run in 21:28 average pace 7:55, Strength training: BodyPump
  • Tuesday- 3.1 mile run in 25:07 average pace 8:03
  • Wednesday- 2.6 mile run in 20:58 average pace 8:00
  • Thursday- 2.6 mile run in 21:33 average pace 8:12

So that was my week! I had a great week of runs! I so enjoyed running in the daylight during Christmas break. But now it's back to dark runs.

This weekend I have 11 miles on the schedule. It's supposed to be really really cold (and possibly raining) so I'm not looking forward to it.

I hope you all have a great weekend!
