This past weekend was a taper weekend. I only needed to run 6-7 miles. I would be running solo because Jenny is nursing an injury right now. I wasn't real excited about running by myself but knew I could get it done.

The temperature at start time was 66° and 91% humidity. Not too bad. When I started the sun was just beginning to rise.

I tried not to start out too fast. But when I'm by myself it's hard to slow down! I was enjoying the quiet and just hearing my feet hit the pavement.

And I took so many pictures of the sunrise because it was just so beautiful!

The first few miles flew by! My legs were feeling strong. And I was in my groove.

I made a turn and saw another beautiful view of the sunrise. So of course I took another picture!

Then I headed to run in a neighborhood that I haven't run in in awhile. It was still early so the neighborhood was fairly quiet. I was still feeling great and had made it over halfway! And here's the sunrise view from the neighborhood! The sun was finally peeking through!

I finished up the run really strong! I'm proud of my pace for a 7 mile solo run!

And the best part was running in daylight! During the week it is dark during my runs since I have to run so early. So I love being able to run in daylight on the weekends!

This weekend I have 12 miles on the schedule. Then the next weekend is a taper run. And then the next weekend is my half marathon! I can't believe it's so close! I LOVE race season!!!

QOTD: Do you prefer to run in the dark or in daylight? Are you a morning runner or night runner?

The Weekly Chase #142!

We had another fun weekend! I just love weekends!!!

On Friday, Hayden and I spent some time together just the two of us while Sawyer was at gymnastics. We went to the pier. Hayden had some ice cream and then we walked! It was a fun time talking with my sweet boy!

That night we had family movie night! We watched Cinderella and it was just as good the second time around! I just love the theme of the movie..."have courage and be kind!"

Saturday morning I ran 7 miles. I'll tell you more about that on Wednesday. Later that morning my sister in law Katie and my nephew Ronan came over for some shopping and some lunch. Ronan just gets cuter and cuter each time I see him! He was so smiley! Precious!

That afternoon we met our friends Kirstin and Jim for some Starbucks!

Then we walked around our town's arts and crafts festival. We also ate some yummy dinner with them and then went to one of our favorite places to walk and watch the sunset! We didn't see any snakes (thank goodness) but we DID see an alligator!

It was a super fun day!

Sunday morning I ran a 5K before church. After church we went to see the movie Hotel Transylvania 2! We loved the first one so we couldn't wait to see this one! It was so cute! Then we went shoe shopping! Fun!

Now it's time for the Weekly Chase! It's a new week and I have new goals to achieve! I hope you will link up your own goals with me too! And feel free to use the badge below in your post too! You can grab the badge HERE! :-)

Road Runner Girl

Here are my goals from last week!

  • Goal #1: Run every day! Yes! I reached day 480 of my run streak this week! I'm so close to 500 days! Wow!
  • Goal #2: Roll, stretch, and ice daily. Yes!
  • Goal #3: Maintain my weight by logging my calories. Yes!
  • Goal #4: Move 11,000 steps or more each day this week. Yes! And on Saturday I moved 23,000 steps!!!
  • Goal #5: Get Halloween costumes for the boys. 50%! We found Sawyer's costume but are still trying to find the one Hayden wants.

Here are my goals for this week!

Goal #1: Run every day! I plan on continuing the streak this week! Really...I can't imagine stopping!

Goal #2: Roll, stretch, and ice daily. Gotta keep this up to stay injury free! I feel my muscles getting a little tighter as I'm increasing mileage for my half marathon training. Trying to stay on top of it and not get injured.

Goal #3: Maintain my weight by logging my calories. It's all about balance! This week I'm working on not eating snacks after dinner.

Goal #4: Move 11,000 steps or more each day this week. I love knowing I've moved this much each day!

Goal #5: Get my monthly calendar for work completed. I can't believe it's almost October! I have to get my calendar done for my classroom.

Goal #6: Run at least 1 run under 2 miles. Especially now that I am training and increasing my mileage I really need to incorporate a rest day. For a run streaker that means running a lower mileage day. That's so hard for me because I get out there and want to run more! So I'm committing to at least once a week doing a lower mileage run.

So that's my plan for this week! I hope you have a great week conquering your goals!

QOTD: What goals are you working towards this week?

Fitness Friday...September 25th Edition!

Happy Friday!!! The weekend is here! Yay!!!

This week I finally gave in to the pumpkin hype. I bought some pumpkin spice coffee creamer and it is oh so delicious!

Hayden had another art class this week with his friend Maddy. They made a sea horse out of wire and beads! He did a great job! We just have to find a spot to display it!

I also had several Starbucks frapps this week! Don't judge...it's been a long week! ;-)

Lucky for me one of my Starbucks trips was with Jenny and our kiddos! And for some reason they wrote the name "Jade" on Jenny's frapp! We laughed so hard about that!

After coffee we headed to Party City to look for Halloween costumes for the boys. Sawyer decided on Jack Skellington (sooo cute) but Hayden is still undecided. He tried on the Storm Trooper costume but the mask hurt his eyes so we didn't get it.

We had a lot of fun trying on different hats! And yes....that's a poop emoticon on our heads lol!!! Fun times!!!

Now it's time for Fitness Friday! I had great runs this week! I even heard an owl hooting during one of my early morning runs. I love owls!

  • Friday- #plankaday 2:05, 2.51 mile run in 20:35 average pace 8:12

  • Sunday- 3.12 mile run in 25:39 average pace 8:12
  • Monday- #plankaday 2:15, 1.62 mile run in 13:20 average pace 8:14

  • Tuesday- #plankaday 2:15, 2.56 mile run in 21:01 average pace 8:12

  • Wednesday- #plankaday 2:05, 2.56 mile run in 20:52 average pace 8:09

  • Thursday- #plankaday 2:05, 2.24 mile run in 18:05 average pace 8:04

Running went great this week! I will say that I'm starting to get paranoid about getting injured though. I ALWAYS get some minor injury around this time of year. Hopefully it won't happen this year but I'm still worried about it.

This weekend is a taper week. I'll be running 6-7 miles. I'm going to miss running with Jenny...she's dealing with an injury right now. Hopefully she will be back in action soon!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!

QOTD: What was your best run or workout this week?
