The Weekly Chase #96!

Brrr! It was a super cold weekend here on the Gulf Coast! But despite the cold...we had a blast! It started out on Friday night when we celebrated my husband's birthday AND Halloween! Andy's family came over and my sister and her family came too! I'll tell you more about our Halloween tomorrow but here's a sneak peak! Hayden dressed up as Dave the Minion and Sawyer was a green ninja!

Saturday was MY birthday! I woke up super early to run a 10K race! It was brutally cold with a strong north wind. It was pretty miserable standing around before the race. I'll tell you more on Wednesday but I DID manage a birthday PR! :-)

The rest of the day my family made me feel so special for my birthday! And later that night I got to celebrate with friends AND an Auburn football win! If you saw the Auburn/Ole Miss game you know about the tragic leg injury to one of Ole Miss's players. It was heartbreaking seeing it. I'm glad my team was able to win but I wish no one had been injured. So sad.

Sunday was a lazy day. We so needed it after some late nights all weekend. And the best gift that me and my husband could have ever been given? Hayden accepted Jesus into his heart Sunday morning!!!! He told me he wanted to be saved and after some questions to make sure he understood my baby prayed the sinner's prayer and became a Christian! My heart is overflowing!

Now it's time for another Weekly Chase! I'm ready to tell you all about my goals for this week! I hope you will link up your own goals with me too! And feel free to use the badge below in your post too! You can grab the badge HERE! :-)

Road Runner Girl

Here are my goals from last week!

  • Goal #1: Run every day! Yes! The streak lives on!
  • Goal #2: Run mostly 1 milers this week. Yes! I ran all one milers except for my 10K race on Saturday.
  • Goal #3: Roll, stretch, and ice daily. Yes. The rolling seems to be helping the tight calf. I'm just hoping I can roll the knot all away soon!
  • Goal #4: Maintain my weight by logging my calories. Yes! I did good...even with all the birthday and Halloween indulgences!
  • Goal #5: Get my monthly calendar done for school. Yes! I got this done on Wednesday!
  • Goal #6: Make Halloween and Andy's birthday FUN! I had a blast! Hopefully Andy and the boys did too!
Here are the goals I'm chasing this week!

Goal #1: Run every day! I am still loving my run streak...even though it's been pretty cold the past few days. I'm hoping I can keep it going through the winter.

Goal #2: Run mostly 1 milers this week. My calf started feeling better last week when I was only running one mile each day. Then Saturday's 10K race made it sore again. It still feels really tight. When I roll it out it feels a lot better. But once it tightens up again it hurts. The first few steps of my run are always hard because I can really feel it. But then it loosens up some. Hopefully I can eventually roll the knot out and it will get better. But for now I'm going to take it as easy as I can without having to stop my run streak.

Goal #3: Roll, stretch, and ice daily. Especially the tight calf!

Goal #4: Maintain my weight by logging my calories. I'm still watching what I'm eating but allow myself a little more indulgences now that I'm maintaining. Yes...I had birthday cake this weekend! But logging all my food keeps me accountable and keeps me from eating too much. I don't want to fall back into old habits. I love where I am now weight wise!

Goal #5: Write my post for Alabama Women Bloggers. I am the blogger of the month over at Alabama Women Bloggers and the topic is "Fitness in the Fall!" Each week this month I will be writing a post. Be sure to head over there and check it out! :-)

So that's the plan for the week! Good luck with your goals this week too!

The Weekly Chase #93!

Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend! I did! It started out Friday night with a girls night with my sister and niece Ella. We went to the coffee shop, had our pizza for dinner, and then just hung out and talked. It was some great sister time!

Saturday morning I ran my last long run before the Gulf Coast Half Marathon this weekend! I'll tell you more about my run on Wednesday. Saturday afternoon my bestie Rhonda came and picked me up and we went to the hospital to see her new grandbaby! Her son and his wife had a sweet baby girl! Her name is Danalynn and she is just precious! I loved holding and loving on her!

Sunday morning my hubby got up with me and ran a mile! I was so proud of him!!! Then we went to church and then out to eat with the family. The rest of the day was spent relaxing and getting ready for the new week.

Yes! I reached day 140 this past week!!!
  • Goal #2: Roll and stretch daily. Yes! I did great with this!
  • Goal #3: Maintain my weight by logging my calories. Yes! Although most days it was hard to reach the higher amount of calories.
  • Goal #4: Go shopping for warm clothes for me and the boys. No. This didn't happen. For one...it has gone back to feeling like summer around here. It was in the high 80's this past weekend. But I know I need to do this soon because cooler weather will be here again I'm sure.

Here are the goals I'm chasing this week!

Goal #1: Run every day! I want to continue my #RRGRunStreak! This week I need to focus on less intense runs since I have my half marathon on Sunday.

Goal #2: Roll and stretch daily. Definitely need to do well with this this week so my muscles will be ready for Sunday's race!

Goal #3: Maintain my weight by logging my calories. Logging all my food is going to be key to me keeping the weight off. I don't want to fall back into bad habits! I worked too hard for that!

Goal #4: Fuel and hydrate for my race. I need to be sure to drink plenty of water this week. I also need to be sure to eat well. I already have plans to eat my pizza the night before the race! ;-)

Goal #5: Pack for my race weekend. I tend to procrastinate when it comes to packing. I want to be all packed up by Thursday.

So that's my plan for the week. I hope you have a great week!

The Weekly Chase #66!

Here's to another week! I'm excited about this week! It's Teacher Appreciation Week at work and my directors have some amazing things planned for all the teachers! It should be fun! Also we are having our Easter Egg Hunt on Friday and then....SPRING BREAK BEGINS!!!!

This weekend was fun! Hayden is FINALLY better! Friday night we went down to the bay and my husband tried out his new Stand Up Paddle Board! He said the water was so cold! But he had fun! And I got some great pictures of the amazing sunset!

Saturday morning I ran 6 miles with my Sole2Soul Sisters! Then we headed to the camp site with our Cub Scouts! The rain held off all day until that night...right after our campfire pack meeting! Yay! Sawyer received his Tiger advancement, roller skating beltloop, and pet care beltloop. Hayden received his Bear advancement, 1 arrow, and his Whittling Chip! I'm so proud of my boys!

Sunday was another rainy day. We spent it at home getting ready for the next week.

Now it's time for another Weekly ChaseI'm ready to tell you all about my goals for this week! I hope you will link up your own goals with me too! And feel free to use the badge below in your post too! You can grab the badge HERE! :-)

Road Runner Girl

Here are last week's goals!

  • Goal #1: Run 3 times this week. Yes! I wasn't sure I would get these runs in since Hayden was sick and since my knee was a little achy. But I did! I ran 2 short runs and a long run!
  • Goal #2: Roll and stretch daily. Done!
  • Goal #3: Get prepared to go camping this weekend with the Cub Scouts. Yep! I didn't have to do as much preparation since we didn't actually camp. But I got us all ready to spend the day there.
  • Goal #4: Log and stay under all my calories this week. Yes except for my pre long run meal on Friday night! But I was only over my calories by 37 so not too bad. Saturday they had fried chicken at the campout...but with my run that morning I had plenty of calories to eat. I ended up having 500 calories that I didn't eat at the end of the day on Saturday.

Here's my plan for this week!

Goal #1: Run 3 times this week. I would like to keep the same plan....2 short runs and a longer run on the weekend. I'm hoping Hayden will feel like getting back out there this week too. We may just walk instead of doing run intervals since he's been sick. I want to ease him back into it.

Goal #2: Roll and stretch daily. Ongoing goal for this runner!

Goal #3: Log and stay under all my calories this week. I'm feeling so much better now that I am tracking everything that I eat!

Goal #4: Shop for Easter goodies. I need to shop for the boys' Easter parties and egg hunts at school. I also need to shop for my preschool class!

Goal #5: Cook more meals at home this week. I want to cook healthier meals for the entire family this week.

So that's the goals for this week!

The Weekly Chase #65!

It's the start of another great week! I had a great weekend! Friday night I went to my race packet pickup with my friend Donna. Then Saturday was race day! Despite the threat of thunderstorms pushing the start time back an hour...it turned out to be a bright and sunny day! And it was super hot and humid too. Not the best race conditions but I still had fun! After the race my family and Paige's family went to lunch and then to the Pensacola Naval Air Museum...one of my boys' favorite places to go!

Unfortunately our visit got cut short because Hayden starting feeling bad. We took him to Urgent Care on the way home and my suspicions were confirmed. He had caught my strep throat. Poor guy! So Sunday was spent at home nursing my baby. :-(

Now it's time for another Weekly ChaseI'm ready to tell you all about my goals for this week! I hope you will link up your own goals with me too! And feel free to use the badge below in your post too! You can grab the badge HERE! :-)

Road Runner Girl

Here are my goals from last week!

  • Goal #1: Run 3 times this week. Yep! I got in 2 short runs and then my half marathon on Saturday! I also ran the Couch to 5K with Hayden twice this week!
  • Goal #2: Roll and stretch daily. Yes!
  • Goal #3: Log and stay under all my calories this week except Friday when I'll be fueling for my race the next day. Yes! I did great with this! And Friday I was only over by 13 calories!
  • Goal #4: Hydrate and fuel well for my half marathon on Saturday. Yes! I felt like I was fueled well. And I know I was hydrated well. Although the heat got to me at the end of the race....but that could be because of the late start and the fact that my body is not used to running at noon.

Here are the goals I am working on this week!

Goal #1: Run 3 times this week. I want to run 2 short runs and a longer run of about 5 miles. I need these to be easy runs since I'm recovering from the half marathon. I also hope to get in some run/walks with Hayden. Since he was sick he didn't get to run yesterday.

Goal #2: Roll and stretch daily. I definitely need to keep this up since I am now running with Hayden too.

Goal #3: Get prepared to go camping this weekend with the Cub Scouts. It is the Cub Scout's spring campout this weekend. There is some rain in the forecast so I'm not sure if we will stay both nights or just go up for the day on Saturday. Either way I need to prepare. We have to provide all our own food this time except for dinner Saturday night.

Goal #4: Log and stay under all my calories this week. If we do go camping this weekend it will be tougher to keep my calories low. I'm not sure what they will be serving for dinner Saturday night. My plan is to watch my portions since I may not know the exact calorie count. We will be hiking some that day too so that will help.

So that's my plan for the week! Hopefully the week goes smoothly!

The Weekly Chase #64!

Happy Tuesday friends! Thanks so much to my Weekly Chasers for your patience in my post being a day late. I was super excited to tell you about the #HeatItUp April Instagram Photo Challenge yesterday! I hope you are all going to join in on the fun!

This weekend went by way too fast! Saturday I DID run my 10K race! I felt really good despite having strep throat two days before. But then on Sunday my allergies flared up and I had a headache, sinus drainage, and a scratchy throat! Pollen is everywhere you look around here right now. My car is covered with it and when I ran the other day there was pollen on my phone! Crazy!

In exciting news...my son Hayden decided he wants to train for a 5K!!! Sunday afternoon we ran his first run of the couch to 5K program! He did so great!!! He started getting tired during the run portions so I got him to talking about Lego's (his favorite things) and he forgot he was even running!!! I hope he wants to keep this up!

Now it's time for another Weekly ChaseI'm ready to tell you all about my goals for this week! I hope you will link up your own goals with me too! And feel free to use the badge below in your post too! You can grab the badge HERE! :-)

Road Runner Girl

Here are last week's goals!

  • Goal #1: Run at least 2-3 times this week. Yes! I wanted to get in 3 runs but strep throat made me cancel one of them lol!
  • Goal #2: Roll and stretch daily. Yes!
  • Goal #3: Log and stay under all my calories this week. 95%! I stayed under my calories every day except Friday when I was fueling for my race. Some days were harder than others but I was strong!
  • Goal #4: Figure out my running outfit for the race this weekend. I ended up wearing a black shirt, royal blue sparkle skirt, and black compression socks.

Here are the goals I am working on this week!

Goal #1: Run 3 times this week. I hope to get in 2 short runs and then I have my last half marathon of the spring season on Saturday. It's starting to get way too hot to run half marathons so this will be my last one until the fall.

Goal #2: Roll and stretch daily. Gotta keep this up!

Goal #3: Log and stay under all my calories this week except Friday when I'll be fueling for my race the next day. I've been doing pretty good with this! Some days are definitely harder than others but I'm loving that my clothes are fitting better! I've lost 5.3 pounds so far!!!

Goal #4: Hydrate and fuel well for my half marathon on Saturday. I need to be sure to drink plenty of water this week. I've been doing great with this since I've started counting calories but need to make sure I keep it up this week. I also need to eat some extra carbs (pizza!!!!) on Friday before the race.

That's my plan for this week! Not a whole lot different from last week but goals are goals, right?!

The Weekly Chase #62!

Spring is in the air! Or at least it felt like that this weekend!!! I'm happy to say that my 11 mile run on Saturday morning went well! I made sure to eat more calories on Friday (including my pizza) to help fuel me for the run and I think it worked! :-)

Saturday night my running friends and I all got together for a surprise birthday party for my BRF Paige! She was totally in shock and surprised! It was great!!!

Yes! I only got in 1 short run (due to stormy weather) and a long run. I also got in a walk with my boys this week!
  • Goal #2: Roll and stretch daily. Yep!
  • Goal #3: Log and stay under all my calories this week. 95%! I did really well keeping under my calories...although some days were harder than others. I went over by 200 calories on Friday but that was intentional since I was fueling up for my long run the next day. So far I've lost 1.2 pounds! I weight on Tuesdays so I'm curious to see the number tomorrow.

Here are my goals for this week!

Goal #1: Run at least 2-3 times this week. I'm hoping to get in 2 short runs and a longer run on the weekend.

Goal #2: Roll and stretch daily. So far the tight quad issue is gone! I'm hoping it doesn't come back! I will continue to roll and stretch daily to stay injury free!

Goal #3: Log and stay under all my calories this week. I've been doing really well with this. I hope to keep it up so I can lose that extra weight that I do not need or want.

Goal #4: Cook at least 2 meals at home this week. And I want to cook healthy meals that will go along well with my diet.

That's the plan for my week!

The Weekly Chase #60...and a GIVEAWAY!!!

Happy Monday! I had a wonderful weekend! Saturday morning I had an amazing 10 mile run! Then that afternoon I went shopping with my mother-in-law while all the boys stayed home and cut down a rotten tree in our backyard. I also got a new dishwasher since mine broke last Tuesday. Unfortunately the dishwasher I picked won't come in until Wednesday...so more hand washing ALL the dishes for a few more days. :-(

Sunday morning was spent around the house because it was rainy outside. That afternoon the boys had cub scout meetings. It's been a full weekend!

Now it's time for another Weekly ChaseI'm ready to tell you all about my goals for this week! I hope you will link up your own goals with me too!

Road Runner Girl

Here are last week's goals!

  • Goal #1: Run at least two times. I nailed this one! I ran THREE times this week!!! It felt good to get back on schedule!!!
  • Goal #2: Roll and stretch daily. Yep!
  • Goal #3: Write my Biggest Loser RunWalk Half Marathon recap. Yes! Thanks for all your words of congrats on my PR! Here is the recap in case you missed it! :-)
  • Goal #4: Watch my food portions and decrease my snacking after dinner. I did much better with this this week! I need to keep watching my portions. But I did really well about not snacking after dinner!

So here's the plan for this week!

Goal #1: Run at least 2-3 times this week. I will be running with my Sole2Soul Sisters on Thursday and Saturday of this week. I'm hoping to get in another short run on Monday or Tuesday.

Goal #2: Roll and stretch daily. My left quad is pretty tight right now. I'm trying my hardest to work out the tightness so rolling and stretching is a MUST!

Goal #3: Watch my spending this week. With car tags due this month and having to buy a new dishwasher, the funds are really low until our next paycheck. I need to be sure to budget wisely this week. Also Sawyer's gymnastics tuition is due no later than Thursday. I'm hoping for a money miracle! :-/

Goal #4: Watch my food portions and decrease my snacking after dinner. I feel like I did well with this last week but I still want to work on it some more.

Hopefully I will be pretty successful with my goals this week!!!

The Weekly Chase #59!

What a great weekend! I had an amazing time with my Valentine on Friday night! We went to one of the local fine dining restaurants and it was amazing! And I got to enjoy my food twice! I LOVE leftovers! Thanks to my church's monthly parents night out we were able to go on our Valentine's date. And the boys had a blast playing at church!

Saturday I ran a long run with my Sole2Soul Sisters and then had breakfast with them! The rest of the day was spent with my amazing family! I just love my boys (sons and handsome hubby)! Sunday we had the boys' Blue and Gold Banquet for Cub Scouts! They had fun cooking finger foods with Daddy...and I enjoyed not being allowed to help! ;-)

Now it's time for another Weekly ChaseI'm ready to tell you all about my goals for this week! I hope you will link up your own goals with me too!

Road Runner Girl

Here are my goals from last week and how I did with them!

  • Goal #1: Recover from my half. I feel like I did well with this! I didn't run at all last week to give my legs some rest. I ran a long run on Saturday but took it easy.
  • Goal #2: Roll and stretch daily. Mostly. I missed a few days.
  • Goal #3: Write my Rock 'n' Roll New Orleans recap. Yes! If you missed it you can read it HERE!
  • Goal #4: Watch my food portions. I did pretty well with this until this weekend came along. I ate entirely too much this weekend. :-(

Here are the goals I am chasing this week!

Goal #1: Run at least two times. I really need to get back into a consistent routine with my running. Ever since my knee injury I haven't gotten back into my schedule. My friend Paige is leading a Sole2Soul Sisters training group for a local 10K. They will be running on Tuesday nights and Saturday mornings and I've committed to be there to help. That will help me get back into a routine too. I am also planning on trying to get at least a 2 miler in on Thursdays after work and before my boys get off the bus.

Goal #2: Roll and stretch daily. Must keep this up in the effort to stay non injured!

Goal #3: Write my Biggest Loser RunWalk Half Marathon recap. I'm excited to tell you all about this race and my new PR!!!

Goal #4: Watch my food portions and decrease my snacking after dinner. I've got to get my food intake under control. Some of my blogger friends have started a food accountability group and I'm hoping we can all help each other with our eating habits. I know one of my biggest problems is snacking after dinner. I'm not hungry at this time....I just like to snack. There's no reason to add these extra calories in every night.

That's my plan for the week!

Don't forget about my giveaway for a Runningluv!!!

The Weekly Chase #58!

I cannot WAIT to tell you all about my weekend! It was amazing! Saturday my running group put on our 4th annual race, the Sole2Soul Scoot Goes Retro 5K! I never get to run this race because I have to work it but I always have an amazing time with my sisters and cheering on all the runners!

After the race, my hubby went with me to pick up my race packet for The Biggest Loser RunWalk Half Marathon! Then the boys and I went with my mom-in-law and sister-in-law to see The Lego Movie! It was really cute and my lego fanatic boys LOVED it!

Later that night, we celebrated my mom-in-law's birthday! We went out to eat Mexican food and had cake at home!

Then Sunday morning I ran my race! It was my 22nd half marathon....and a 2 minute PR!!! It was amazing!!!

Now it's time for another Weekly ChaseI'm ready to tell you all about my goals for this week! I hope you will link up your own goals with me too!

Road Runner Girl

Here are the goals I had last week:

  • Goal #1: Run at least once this week. Yes! I took most of the week off but ran a short run on Friday so I'd be ready for my half on Sunday. It must have worked because I had an amazing race!
  • Goal #2: Roll and stretch daily; ice after each run. Yes!
  • Goal #3: Fuel and hydrate for my 22nd half marathon! Yep! This one is never too hard for me. I did a lot better hydrating on Saturday before my race on Sunday too.
  • Goal #4: Get race literature done for the Sole2Soul Scoot. Yes! I had to make several revisions throughout the week but got it done!

Here are my goals for this week!

Goal #1: Recover from my half. My legs are pretty sore since I haven't run that fast in a while. If I feel up to it I will try to run some this week.

Goal #2: Roll and stretch daily. My legs are sore...especially my quads. I need to roll them consistently to work out the soreness and prevent injury.

Goal #3: Write my Rock 'n' Roll New Orleans recap. I need to get this written first...then I can write the Biggest Loser RunWalk Half Marathon recap.

Goal #4: Watch my food portions. I've been indulging way too much lately. I need to eat smaller portions.

That's my plan for this week!

The Weekly Chase #57!

I can't wait to tell you all about my weekend and race in New Orleans! Hopefully I will get the recap up this week!

In the meantime...for all my local peeps...my running group Sole2Soul Sisters puts on a 5K race every year. It benefits an amazing organization called The Ransom Cafe. And it's that time again! This year's theme is RETRO! And yes there will be a costume contest! There is even a stay in bed option for those of you who don't run but would like to support a great cause. So I hope you will register and come see me at the Sole2Soul Scoot Goes Retro in Mobile, AL!

Hopefully you saw all my pictures from the Snowpocalypse last week! We had a blast playing in the winter weather but I'm so glad we don't have to deal with snow and ice all the time. I'm not sure how some of you do it! I like my tropical weather!

Now it's time for The Weekly Chase! I'm ready to tell you all about my goals for this week! I hope you will link up your own goals with me too!

Road Runner Girl

Here are my goals from last week!

  • Goal #1: Run at least once before I leave for New Orleans. Nope. With the extreme winter weather I didn't get to run. The roads and sidewalks were icy and I didn't want to chance a fall.
  • Goal #2: Roll and stretch daily; ice after each run. 50%. I didn't roll and stretch every day but I did some.
  • Goal #3: Fuel and hydrate for my 21st half marathon! Oh yes! I ate entirely way too much since I was confined to my house for 3 days!
  • Goal #4: Pack for New Orleans. Yep!
  • Goal #5: Cook more meals than we eat out this week. Yes! I made Taco Soup, Chicken, and Chicken and Rice! Comfort food in the cold temps! ;-)

Here are the goals I have for this week!

Goal #1: Run at least once this week. I have another race this weekend...The Biggest Loser Half in Mobile! I need to recover some from New Orleans but also be ready for my race.

Goal #2: Roll and stretch daily; ice after each run. I must do this every single day this week!!!

Goal #3: Fuel and hydrate for my 22nd half marathon! This will be easy!

Goal #4: Get race literature done for the Sole2Soul Scoot. I'm in charge of getting the race literature done with all the sponsors on it. I've started it but need to finish it.

So that's my week! It's going to be crazy busy with work, getting everything finished for the Scoot, and running my race on Sunday! But I love the craziness!!!

The Weekly Chase #56!

Why hello Monday! I haven't had a real Monday in two weeks! Last Monday was a holiday and the Monday before that I was traveling home from Disney Marathon Weekend! So this week you're telling me I have to work a 5 day week? What?

Last Friday was a day in history here on the Gulf Coast! It was super super cold and we had sleet, freezing rain....I don't know what to call it except that little balls of ice were falling from the sky! Really...what is this called? Some were saying snow, some were saying sleet, others were saying freezing rain. I have no clue! But I took pictures and video for my boys before I left for work! You could see the ice on our trampoline!

They are predicting another really cold day tomorrow. And there's a chance of SNOW! Here on the Gulf Coast! What is going on???? I am freezing around here lol! Luckily, the weekend is supposed to warm up to the 60's. I should have temps in the 50's at start time for the Rock 'n' Roll New Orleans Half Marathon! Perfect running weather!

Now it's time for The Weekly Chase! I'm ready to tell you all about my goals for this week! I hope you will link up your own goals with me too!

Road Runner Girl

Here are my goals from last week and how I did with them!

  • Goal #1: Run at least 2-3 times. Yes! I ran twice this week! I ran a short run and then am 8 miler this weekend!
  • Goal #2: Roll and stretch daily; ice after each run. 75%. I didn't do this every day but I did do it more than last week!
  • Goal #3: Write more Disney posts this week. Yes! I wrote 3 more posts! I only have one more Disney post to share with you and I'll post it this week. Here are the ones I wrote this week in case you missed them: Walt Disney Marathon Weekend...Magic Bands and Downtown Disney
Walt Disney World Half Marathon, Walt Disney Marathon Weekend...An Afternoon in Epcot
  • Goal#4: Cook more meals than we eat out this week. Yes!!!! I'm pretty excited about this one! We only ate out twice this week. We had Moe's Southwest Grill on Wednesday night and Pizza on Friday night. All the other nights we ate meals at home!

So here are my goals for this week!

Goal #1: Run at least once before I leave for New Orleans. I would love to run twice but I'm only committing to once since we are having some extreme cold weather here. Plus I'm tapering so once will be sufficient.

Goal #2: Roll and stretch daily; ice after each run. I really need to get back to this 100%! My left quad has some tightness in it that I need to get rolled out. Consistency is key!

Goal #3: Fuel and hydrate for my 21st half marathon! This goal won't be hard for me lol!

Goal #4: Pack for New Orleans. I hate packing and always procrastinate. I'd like to start packing on Tuesday.

Goal #5: Cook more meals than we eat out this week. We are on a budget now because Sawyer has moved up in his gymnastics and is now on the boys pre team! I'm so proud of him! But that also means his monthly gymnastics fee doubled. So we need to cook more meals at home so we can afford to let Sawyer pursue his dream.

That's it for this week! I'm so excited for the weekend and Rock 'n' Roll New Orleans!!!!

The Weekly Chase #55!

Hey everyone! We are off of school today due to the Martin Luther King Holiday! I'm enjoying spending the day with my boys! I feel like I haven't seen them much since I got home from Disney.

This weekend was busy! Friday night I had a meeting with my Sole2Soul Sisters about our upcoming race, the Sole2Soul Scoot Goes Retro 5K! This will be our 4th year putting on this race and I'm so excited! If you are in the Mobile, AL area I'd love for you to run this race! We had a blast last year with our Sweetheart theme! This year we are doing a retro theme! It's going to be fun!

Saturday the boys had their Pinewood Derby Car Race with the Cub Scouts! Both of their cars did really well. They didn't win but came close! Hayden won 2nd place for Best Decals....his car was a Food Truck. Sawyer's car was a Pest Control Car! They had fun racing!

Saturday afternoon I headed to my best friend Rhonda's house for a girls night out slumber party to celebrate her birthday! We had a blast playing games, dancing, and just being silly!

Sunday was just a lazy day at Rhonda's and then at home! I did manage to run 4 miles Sunday afternoon...my first run since the 19.3 miles I ran in Disney last weekend! It felt great to get back out there!

Now it's time for The Weekly Chase! I'm ready to tell you all about my goals for this week! I hope you will link up your own goals with me too!

Road Runner Girl

Here are my goals from last week and how I did with them!

  • Goal #1: Run at least twice. 50% success! I only ran once....and that was yesterday. I felt ready to run by Wednesday but thought my legs needed some extra recovery time from Disney.
  • Goal #2: Roll and stretch daily; ice after each run. No. :-( I didn't do well with this at all this week.
  • Goal #3: Unpack from Disney. Yes! Although I was sad putting away all my Disney things! I miss it already!

Here are my goals for this week!

Goal #1: Run at least 2-3 times. I'm hoping to get a few short runs in and a long run this weekend. The Rock 'n' Roll New Orleans Half Marathon is in two weeks! I know I won't be super trained for this one due to Disney but I'm going to run it for fun!

Goal #2: Roll and stretch daily; ice after each run. I've got to get back to this to help avoid injury!

Goal #3: Write more Disney posts this week. It's going to take me several posts to tell you all about Disney Marathon weekend! I'd like to get a lot of them written this week.

Goal#4: Cook more meals than we eat out this week. We eat out way more than I'd like due to the fact that I hate to cook. I want to start eating at home more. Plus we have a whole freezer full of deer meat that I need to use! Any recipes you can share with me? Please?

That's it for this week! Hopefully it will be a successful week for me!

QOTD: What are your goals this week? What are some easy recipes you can share with me? Remember I am a horrible cook so it must be easy!

The Weekly Chase #54!

Whew! What an amazing weekend! I had a blast in Disney World and can't wait to tell you all about it! Today I am traveling home. The weekend flew by! But I also missed my men and can't wait to see them!

So here goes my Weekly Chase post! I am excited to tell you all about my goals for this week! Yes...it will include some running recovery time after doing two back to back races!

Road Runner Girl

Here are my goals from last week!

  • Goal #1: Run at least once before I leave for Disney Marathon Weekend. Nope! The weather was so cold last week before I left that it was really hard to get a run in.
  • Goal #2: Roll and stretch daily; ice after each run. Yes!
  • Goal #3: Hydrate and fuel for Disney Marathon Weekend! Yes! And I love this goal! It's never to hard to eat lol!
  • Goal #4: Pack for Disney Marathon Weekend. Yes! Due to the extreme cold weather here on the Gulf Coast schools were closed on Tuesday (crazy I know)! So the day off gave me more time to pack!
  • Goal #5: Get blog posts written for when I'm out of town. Yep! This little blog kept on functioning while I was out of town! I had my laptop with me so it was easy to keep up! :-)

And here are the goals for this week!

Goal #1: Run at least twice. I would like to run a short and easy run and then a longer run this weekend. The Rock 'n' Roll New Orleans Half Marathon is next on my list and it is in three weeks! I probably won't run until Thursday to give my legs some recovery time.

Goal #2: Roll and stretch daily; ice after each run. Gotta keep this up!

Goal #3: Unpack from Disney. I don't want to be living out of a suitcase this next week!

Not many goals for me this week. But I still have them! And I WILL conquer them! :-)

The Weekly Chase #53!

Hey everyone! How was your weekend? Mine was great! My husband went hunting with his Dad and Uncle so his Mom came and spent the weekend with me and the boys! And...we worked really hard on getting my costumes for Disney done! We finished most of it...my sister-in-law is doing one more thing to one of them. I will say that I am very pleased with my costumes! I can't wait to run in them! I'll be doing a costume reveal post this week so stay tuned!

I'm also ready for some FOOTBALL! Tonight is the BCS Championship game and my Auburn Tigers are playing! I also like Florida State so it will be a win win for me tonight! :-)

It's been two weeks since I've done a Weekly Chase post. I'm ready to get back to the routine of creating weekly goals and telling you all about them! I'd love for you to join in and link up your weekly goals too!

Road Runner Girl

Here are the goals I had two weeks ago and how I did with them!

  • Goal #1: Run 2-3 times this week. Yes! I ran a 7 miler on Christmas Eve and then a 5K on Friday. Then I ran The Biggest Loser Half Marathon that Sunday!
  • Goal #2: Roll and stretch daily; ice after each run. Yep!
  • Goal #3: Hydrate and fuel for my 19th half marathon! Yes! I had a great race! I'll have the recap up this week!
  • Goal #4: Have a Merry Christmas with my family! Yes! This one wasn't hard to accomplish! I had a wonderful Christmas! You can see snapshots of my Christmas in this post!

So here are my goals for this week!

Goal #1: Run at least once before I leave for Disney Marathon Weekend. I would like to get in a short run. Then I will be running a 10K on Friday and a Half Marathon on Saturday in Disney World!!!

Goal #2: Roll and stretch daily; ice after each run. I need to be sure to keep this up while I'm in Disney too!

Goal #3: Hydrate and fuel for Disney Marathon Weekend! I'm so excited! I will be running back to back races so I need to be sure I'm prepared! I need to be sure to rehydrate and refuel well after my first race so I'll be ready for the next day's race.

Goal #4: Pack for Disney Marathon Weekend. I love traveling but I hate packing! It will be a little tougher since I am running two races instead of just one!

Goal #5: Get blog posts written for when I'm out of town. I will still be updating my blog each day while I'm in Disney. So make sure to keep stopping by! :-)

That's it for this week! I have a busy next few days to get ready for Disney! But I am sooooo excited! Disney races are my absolute favorite races!

The Weekly Chase #52!

Happy Christmas week! Wednesday is the big day! I'm excited about it but I'm also not wanting it to come. It seems like this Christmas season has gone by so fast! I really would like about another 2 weeks to enjoy it more lol!

This weekend was great for me! We started our Christmas vacation off from school. We finally cut our cable and got a Roku. So we've been having fun watching Netflix and Hulu Plus....basically more TV than we normally watch. I know the newness will wear off eventually. But it's fun right now...especially since it's been a rainy weekend here. And that rain seriously has messed up my long run! Meaning...I didn't get one in! I don't mind running in the rain...but thunder, lightning, and flash flooding is a different story.

Friday night my sister that lives in San Francisco came for a quick visit. She just recently had a baby in September and since we live on the opposite side of the United States from each other I haven't met my niece yet. Until this weekend! And she is amazing! I am already in love with her!

Saturday night we participated in one of our yearly traditions. We went to a friend's house and watched the Boat Christmas parade! Yes...I love living on the Gulf Coast! There were about 40 boats that participated in the parade. They decorate their boats with Christmas lights and drive down the river! It's so much fun and the boys love seeing all the boats and yelling Merry Christmas to them!

It's time for another Weekly Chase! I'm ready to tell you all about my goals this week! I hope you will link up your own goals with me this week too!

Road Runner Girl

Here are my goals from last week and how I did with them!

  • Goal #1: Run 2-3 times this week. :-( Nope. I didn't make this goal unfortunately. I ran a short run during the week and then the plan was to run a long run this weekend...but the rain messed that up for me. I'm hoping to get in at least 5-7 miles today...but I don't know if that will happen either. We have family coming in town.
  • Goal #2: Roll and stretch daily; ice after each run. Yes!
  • Goal #3: Finish writing my Memphis posts. I got all of these done except for the very last day!
  • Goal #4: Clean up the guest bedroom. Yes!

Here are the goals I have for this week!

Goal #1: Run 2-3 times this week. I'm hoping to get in a longer run and then a short run. The Biggest Loser Half Marathon is on Sunday!!!

Goal #2: Roll and stretch daily; ice after each run. Gotta keep this one going!

Goal #3: Hydrate and fuel for my 19th half marathon!

Goal #4: Have a Merry Christmas with my family! Yes this one won't be hard to accomplish!

That's it for me this week! I hope you all have a Merry Christmas!!!

One last thing....I have a WINNER of the entry into The Biggest Loser RunWalk Race! Congratulations to...Carson Phillips!!! Carson send me an email at mindy@roadrunnergirl.com and let me know which race you want the entry for! Congrats again!
