Sawyer's Birthday Beach Weekend!

This past weekend we spent the weekend at the beach! We were able to stay in the hubby's Aunt and Uncle's condo! And Andy's parents stayed with us! We had an absolute blast! You may remember we stayed at the beach a few weeks ago for Hayden's birthday? Well Sawyer so wanted to do the same thing for his birthday but we didn't think we would be able to. Well thanks to Grandma she got it all worked out so we could! I had a very excited birthday boy!!! :-) Enjoy our weekend in pictures! :-)

It was an absolutely amazing weekend! The summer crowd was gone so we almost had the beach to ourselves! The water was calm (just like I like it) and crystal clear! We saw tons of fish, crabs, dolphins, and stingrays! It was so relaxing and just what we needed after the hectic first week of school!

The Weekly Chase #44!

Happy Monday!!! This weekend was great! We had some cooler weather and it felt amazing! I ran/walked the Turkey Trot fun run with my family and then I spent the rest of the weekend with my best friend Rhonda. Rhonda and I even walked 5 miles! It was a great weekend!

This afternoon I am going to see my sports chiropractor Dr. Justin about my knee and hip. Both are feeling much better after all the rest I have taken from running. But I still want to get them checked out since I have so many races on the horizon. I'll tell you all about my appointment later!

It's time for the Weekly Chase! I'm ready to tell you all about my goals this week! I hope you will link up your own goals with us too!

Road Runner Girl

Here are my goals from last week!

  • Goal #1: Rest and recover from my half marathon. Yes! I didn't run at all last week except for the little bit I ran during the 1 mile fun run with the family on Saturday. I was pretty sore from the half on Monday and Tuesday but then all was good except for the knee pain.
  • Goal #2: Roll and stretch daily. Yes!
  • Goal #3: Cook dinner at home 3-4 times this week. Yes! It was nice having some homecooked meals this week instead of eating out so much!
  • Goal #4: Get my race recap written and posted on the blog this week. Done! If you missed my race recap you can read it HERE! ;-)

Here are the goals I will be working on this week!

Goal #1: Follow what ever directions Dr. Justin gives me concerning my knee and hip. I'm hoping he will let me run this week. There's a 10K race on Saturday that I'd really like to do but I will have to wait and see what he says.

Goal #2: Roll and stretch daily. An ongoing goal!

Goal #3: Help make Halloween fun for my boys. I love Halloween! I hope I can make it a fun time for the boys! I know we will be going trick or treating for sure!

Goal #4: Happy Birthday fun! Thursday (also Halloween) is my hubby's birthday! He's very hard to shop for so I have no clue what to get him for his birthday. But I hope I can make it special for him! It's hard since it's also Halloween and the boys are focused on trick or treating. Then..my birthday is the next day...on Friday!!! :-)

So that's the plan for the week! I'm really hoping I get great news today about my knee and hip!! Fingers crossed! This girl just wants to run!!!

QOTD: What are your goals this week? Any suggestions on how to make my hubby's birthday special?

My Baby is 6!

Today is my Sawyer's 6th birthday!!! He's my youngest and will always be my baby! We have such a special bond! He is truly a momma's boy and I love it!

Sawyer is also my little firecracker! He has such a personality and always keeps us laughing! And he's stubborn lol! You can tell how strong willed he is in this picture. He was only a day old and was already holding his little head up!

His favorite thing to do right now is to do cartwheels! He does them everywhere! And his cartwheel is really good! I'm trying to talk him into taking gymnastics.

Sawyer brings so much joy into our lives! I cannot believe he is already 6 years old! Time flies so fast!!! I love you Sawyer Reese Bobe!!!

QOTD: What is your most memorable birthday?

Halloween and Birthday Fun!

Yes I know I normally do Fitness Friday today but I'm skipping it this week (hope you don't mind) and telling you all about my Halloween and birthday fun! Lots and lots and lots of pics so get ready! :-)

Halloween is also my hubby's birthday! He never wants anything so it's always hard to buy him gifts. So I always try to remember when he says he wants something or wants to do something. I remember a while back he said he wanted to go to a University of South Alabama football game. He got his engineering degree from there and back then they didn't have a football team (they only had one the past few years). And we haven't been to a game yet...so for his birthday I got him tickets to this weekend's game and a new South Alabama shirt! I think he was surprised!

After birthday presents it was time for trick or treating with friends!

My little Captain America and Spiderman!

Yes...I totally dressed up as Wonder Woman with my boys! (The hubby wouldn't dress up...boo!)

Me with my birthday man!

Posing!

Hayden doing his Captain America pose! Lol!

We have the best neighborhood for trick or treating. Tons of people that don't live there come to our neighborhood every year for Halloween. My friend Stephanie and her family came and brought 3 other families with them! So we had a ton of kids here! And that made it sooo much fun!

Finally it was time to go! They all bombarded the first house!!!

The boys with their best buds Sydney and Zoë (aka Merida and Rapunzel)!

And Sawyer and Zoë found one of their classmates when we were trick or treating!

Some of the houses in our neighborhood go all out with their decorations!

But the last house we hit every year is amazing with their decorations! They make a walk through in their front yard...with all kinds of decorations! It is awesome! Last year Sawyer was too scared to go through it but this year he did it!!! And yes...these pictures were seriously taken at that one house!

We all had a blast trick or treating! And there is more candy in my house than I like! The boys only got a few healthier choices...one house gave out cheez its and animal crackers. Another house gave out packs of wheat crackers with cheese. And guess what my boys went for first? Yep! The healthier options...yay!

Yesterday was MY birthday! I got a nice wake up that morning with my boys getting into bed with me and hugging me and telling me happy birthday! Awesome way to wake up! Then my friend Stephanie took me out to lunch at the Sugar Kettle Cafe. It's one of my favorite restaurants...they cook southern homecooked meals. And guess what I got? Fried chicken, field peas, and mashed potatoes and gravy!

Hey I can indulge on my birthday! (And I'm using the excuse that I need to carb up for Saturday's 16 mile run!!! )

After lunch I headed to the hospital to visit my friend Katrina...she had her second baby girl last night! Remember she ran a half marathon about a month ago? She's amazing! Little Miriam (how cute is that name?!) is sooo precious!

Last night Andy's sister came over to watch the boys so Andy and I could go out to dinner! We went to a steak house and had steak. I haven't had a steak in forever! We ordered a porterhouse for 2...it was a 30 oz. steak that we shared. It was huge!

And no we didn't finish it all! We brought home the leftovers!

It was a great day! Thanks so much for all the birthday wishes on Facebook, twitter, Instagram, and here on the blog! You all know how to make a girl feel loved!!! :-)

QOTD: Do you decorate for Halloween?
