Fitness Friday...August 12th Edition!

Happy Friday y'all! This week flew by! And that makes me sad because that means we only have one more week of summer left. This next week I have my teacher meetings and then school starts on the 22nd (which is also my Sawyer's 9th birthday)!

I feel like this summer went by way faster than the ones in the past. Of course that could be because I'm getting older lol!

Monday the boys and I went up to my school to start working in my classroom. I got new carpet in my room over the summer so all my furniture was in array. But I got the room set up the way I wanted with even a little bit of a change from last year! I also got all the bulletin boards covered with paper and borders. So I felt pretty accomplished!

That night I just had to take this picture of Cullen sleeping so sweetly! He has been such a sport when it comes to Archie! He seems to accept him more and more each day! He is even drinking water out of Archie's bowl instead of his own now lol! I couldn't be more thankful for my fur babies!

Tuesday I had to go to work for First Aid training and Safe Sanctuary training. Luckily my wonderful in-laws picked the boys up the day before and they stayed the night with them while I worked. After my training Archie and I took the 40 minute car ride to go get them! 

It was Archie's first time going to Grandma and Papa's house and he was CRAZY! I'm not sure if he thought I was going to leave him or what. But we ended up leaving earlier than I wanted just because Archie was ready to go. I wish I knew his story and where he has been all his life before we got him. 

Archie was super happy when Daddy got home! He wasn't so sure of Daddy holding him though lol! 

I couldn't resist loving on him when he was sleeping. He was so sweet and put his paw on me like he was trying to snuggle!!! 

Wednesday was another day of working in my classroom. I got almost everything hung on the walls. And I got a few beginning of the school year things done including the little gifts I'm going to give my students at meet the teacher!

That evening I went to the gym. It's been tough trying to find the time to workout this week with all we've had going on. I decided to take the BodyPump class so I could get in a full body workout since I hadn't had time for anything else this week. I increased my weight on the bar for the first time since I've been taking the class. I could feel the burn and was a little sore the next day. LOVED it!

Thursday my Dad and Step Mom came to visit! They were excited to meet Archie! And as always they took the boys to McDonalds (which is a treat for them since I never take them there)!

Thursday night was Girls Night Out with my friends Kirstin and Julie! We went to see the movie "Bad Moms!" It was pretty funny! 

Now it's time for Fitness Friday! I had a great week of runs! I only got in one strength training workout this week...but I'm hoping to get in a second today! 

  • Friday- 2.7 mile run in 22:16 average pace 8:14
  • Sunday- 2.6 mile run in 21:31 average pace 8:12
  • Monday- 2.6 mile run in 20:57 average pace 8:01
  • Tuesday- 2.6 mile run in 20:48 average pace 7:56
  • Wednesday- 2.6 mile run in 20:48 average pace 7:58, Strength training: BodyPump
  • Thursday- 2.6 mile run in 21:04 average pace 8:04

So that was my week! I know fitting in my runs and workouts is only going to get more challenging once school starts back up. I plan on getting up early like before to get in my runs (although I won't have time to run the mileage I've run this summer). And then I'm hoping to fit in at least 2 strength training workouts during the week and maybe a 3rd on the weekend. And then of course walks every night with Archie are a must! ;-) 

This weekend I'm hoping to run 5-6 miles. Half marathon training is coming soon!
