Faster Than Boo Virtual 10K Race Recap!

Disclaimer: As a Gone For a Run ambassador I was given a complimentary race entry. No other compensation was received. All opinions are mine alone.

This past weekend was time to run the Faster Than Boo Virtual 10K by GoneForARun.com! And....I ran it on Saturday...which was also Halloween!!! How perfect!!!

Luckily Jenny came to run with me! We decided to make it fun and dress festive! Jenny wore Ariel colors and I wore my pumpkin shirt! Fun!

We started around 6:20 AM. The weather was hot and a little humid but we expected that because rain was in the forecast for later that night. The sun was just starting to come up!

We ran and talked! The miles just flew by!!! I love runs like that! Before we knew it...we were done!!!!

See the cute little pumpkins Jenny wore on her hat? So much fun!!!

And how appropriate that I had a ghost on my front door! Fit so well with the theme of the race! We were definitely faster than Boo!!! ;-)

After the run my hubby presented me with my super cute medal! The ghost glows in the dark AND spins y'all!!! So awesome!!!

It was another great run! And how awesome to get a medal afterwards! I just LOVE the virtual races by goneforarun.com! Be sure to check out all the virtual races they offer! There are some really cute ones for the holidays!!!

Faster Than Boo Virtual 10K!

Disclaimer: As a Gone For a Run ambassador I was given a complimentary race entry. No other compensation was received. All opinions are mine alone.

If you haven't done one of the virtual races by GoneForARun.com then you are missing out! They are so much fun and the race swag is awesome!

The next race I'm participating in is the Faster Than Boo 10K!!! This race is a 6.2 mile virtual race. The race will be held October 29-October 31. The great thing about a virtual race...you can run it anywhere and at any time! It just has to be during those dates. And you can pick your own course to run! Pretty sweet!

I LOVE that this race is Halloween themed! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays!!! And guess what?? The ghost on the medal spins AND glows in the dark!!!!

How about the race swag? Included in your entry fee is a race bib (no printed ones...these are on the same paper as the bibs at real races), a shirt, and a medal (basic package). There is also a premium package that includes super cute knee high socks!

As with all their races GoneForARun.com also has some race packet add-ons! Add an orange tutu for $7.99!

For $15.99 you can add printed arm sleeves that have the arm bones on them!

You can also add a LightGUIDE LED Arm LightBand for an additional $14.99!

You must register by October 19th in order to receive your race packet in time! Basic registration is $32.00. The premium package registration is $40.00. Add the appropriate amount for any of the add-ons!

And I LOVE that with this race you will be supporting a charity!

By running this race you will also be supporting an amazing charity. A percentage of your race entry will be donated to Friends of Jaclyn Foundation. The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation has enriched the lives of over 600 children and their families battling with pediatric cancer. Please read about Jaclyn’s story and the great success of the foundation athttp://friendsofjaclyn.org/jaclyns-story.

Once you complete your race...share it with the world! Post it on the GoneForARun Facebook page!

This is going to be such a fun race!!! I'm hoping to get some friends to sign up and join me! I hope you do too! Can't you just see all the cute outfits with this super cute race shirt??!!

Be sure to share your race experience on Twitter and Instagram with the hashtag #fasterthanBOO10K!

Have a spooktacular race!!!

Log Off Shut Down Go Run Virtual 10K Recap!

Disclaimer: As a Gone For a Run ambassador I was given a complimentary race entry. No other compensation was received. All opinions are mine alone.

This past weekend I ran a virtual race by GoneForARun.com! You may remember me telling you about it a few weeks ago.

My friend Jenny was going to run with me. The night before the run the forecast was calling for rain. So I was prepared to run in the rain. Around 5 AM I was woken up by a thunderstorm....and a tornado watch. We were planning to run at 6:30 AM. I quickly looked at the radar and it looked like the rain would be gone by then. So I attempted to get a little more sleep before I had to get up. Of course I couldn't sleep anymore! Finally the alarm went off. I got ready and headed out...into a thick, humid, and hot morning. I knew those conditions were going to make it a tough run. But I was excited to run with a friend.

I met Jenny at her house. I wanted a different route than from my house since I run that 6 times a week! Jenny's route was an out and back route in the country!

Of course we needed a post run picture of our non sweaty selves! (Thanks to Jenny's sweet husband Eric for taking all our pictures for us!)

We started our run and right away it was hard to breathe. Plus it was windy. We wouldn't have to endure the wind until we turned around to come back home. None of that stopped us from talking, laughing, and smiling the entire time!

And we had great scenery as well! Who doesn't love running next to a cow pasture?! (And yes...I know I was supposed to "log off" but I couldn't resist one mid run picture...please forgive me!)

Before long we had made it to our turn around point. We headed back into the wind. By mile 4 I was pretty much done. I was so ready for the run to be over. Luckily Jenny kept my mind off of it and we conquered those 6.2 miles!

We had done it! It was a tough run in the 100% humidity! We were drenched with sweat!

That's our "You so stinky" faces! Lol!

And of course being the awesome friend that she is...Jenny awarded me with my medal! :-)

After the run we recovered the best way we know how...with coffee of course! And since we had just run 6.2 miles we totally deserved the big one! ;-)

It was a super fun way to start off my Saturday!

Be sure to check out the next virtual race that GoneForARun.com is offering...Bad Ass Runner Virtual 5 Mile Race! This one is May 29- May 31!
