LSD=Fabulous!!!!
Long slow distance (LSD) run...why did I forget this in the past? It is SOOO not about how fast you are running but that you are out there covering those miles!!! Slow and steady this morning...and it was amazing!!! I had sooo much fun running this morning! We talked, we laughed, and we sang...all the while running down the road with a beautiful sunrise appearing before our eyes!! And yes I think some of the other girls thought we were crazy...but we were having a blast!!! With about 1 mile left to go, some of the other girls in our group had already turned around and were coming back. We threw our hands up in the air and started singing the "Rocky" theme song as they ran past us. Lol! Before when I was worried about my speed I would not have had the breath or the energy to do that at the end of a long run. Anyway, I know you want my stats. I ran 8 miles in 1:31:02 at an average pace of 11:22. And you know what? I am super fine with that pace for a long run! Because I had a blast running at that pace instead of being miserable the whole time. I am so blessed to run with such a great group of ladies! Paige and Marcella...thank you so much for running with me today! Felt awesome to get such a great run in!!!

Back to Blogging!!!
Well, March was the last time I updated this blog! Yikes!!! I've had several races and another half marathon since then. There's no way I can catch up so I am just going to start from here. I really miss blogging and am looking forward to getting back into it! I've had many ups and downs in my running since my last post. This summer has been TOUGH on my training. I've had what I think was tendonitis in my feet and an IT Band issue in my hip. With some rest and Trigger Point Therapy I seem to have gotten the injuries under control. I also was running pretty fast (for me anyway) and have started to slow down some. I think the increased pace was some of the cause of my injuries. I've experienced some burn out...and have even started taking some walk breaks during my long runs to help change it up some. I think I got so concerned with how fast I was going that I forgot the reasons I love to run! Slowing down some has helped me find that love again. Who cares how fast I am? I am out there running (something A LOT of people don't ever attempt) and have a great group of ladies to run with! Hopefully, I am back on the road to success with my running!!!
Anyway, glad to be back! I will be back tomorrow to blog all about my 8 mile run tomorrow morning!

Gulf Coast Half Marathon in Pensacola Beach!!!
Official Time: 2:28:05
My gear the night before the race!

Well...I will admit that this was NOT one of my best races. My ankle was hurting and by mile 6 I was completely DONE! I ended up doing run/walk intervals from mile 6 to the finish. It was very humid and foggy...the air was so thick it was hard to breathe. I do think I started this race way too fast and that is why I lost all my energy at mile 6. The good news is that my time was not the worst race I've done. Actually it is the second fastest half I've done! That surprises me since I walked so much...but also tells me I definitely started too fast. The best part of this race...Andy and the boys were there at the end! And we spent the rest of the morning at the beach!!!
Me and Page before the race!

Group Shot!

Beautiful scenery...but can you see how foggy it was?

Yeah...I'm not sure why I think these sweaty self portraits are necessary lol!

Thanks to my friend Leah for taking this picture of me on the course!

Leah, Paige, and me at the after party...happy to be finished!!!

Laura, me, and Angela...it was Angela's first half and she ROCKED!!!

My loves...my beautiful family!!!

Here's the medal! This series always does these kinds of medals...yes...yes it is a beer bottle opener lol!

Looking forward to the Azalea Trail Run 10K on Saturday! The race benefits the Superhero Foundation so we are dressing up as the Sole2Soul SUPER Sisters!!! Gonna be soo much fun!!!

Hilly Route!
Ran a really hilly route this morning! It actually felt pretty good! Wasn't sure if I would have a good run since my legs are still pretty sore from Sunday's 12 miles but it turned out to be an awesome run and workout! Really felt those hills in my quads and glutes lol! It is the first time in a long time that I was so sweaty after the run that it felt like I had just stepped out of the shower. I ran 4 miles in 39:29 at an average pace of 9:52!!! Not too bad on hills!!! Happy Day everyone!

12 Miles Under the Supermoon!!!
Awesome run and awesome moon! It was gorgeous out there! I had a great run...the first few miles my legs were wondering what I was doing but after I found my groove I felt like I could have ran forever! Love runs like that! If only I could have these kinda runs on race day lol! I ran 12 miles in 1:58:39 at an average pace of 9:53!!! Woo hoo!!! AND...I was leader of the pack today!!! There were 13 of us running today...I am so blessed to have awesome friends to run with!
Please excuse the unmanicured toenails...but this is what I found when I took my shoes off after the run. A blister! It doesn't hurt at all...and has even gone down some since this morning. I'm going to have to face the fact that being a runner hurts the prettiness of your feet lol!
