Fitness Friday...February 5th Edition!!!

Happy Friday y'all!!! It's a 4 day weekend for us! Because of Mardi Gras our schools are out on Monday and Tuesday! Yay!!! We have another busy weekend planned though. Sawyer has another gymnastics meet out of town.

This week seemed to fly by! But it was a fun week!

I got some pretty great news this week! I am returning as a Rock 'n' Blog Ambassador for 2016! I absolutely LOVE Rock 'n' Roll races! They are so full of energy and so much fun! If you haven't run one I highly suggest you do so! I will have a discount code for you soon too so be on the lookout!

One of the perks to being a Rock 'n' Blogger is that I get to run any or all of their races...for free!!!! I'm for sure going to run Rock 'n' Roll New Orleans (I do every year) but I'm hoping to run others this year as well! Unfortunately most of them are pretty far away from me but hopefully I can work out the travel expenses and run a few. 

I'm also returning this year as a blogger for the Crescent City Classic 10K in New Orleans! This is another super fun face that I greatly enjoy each and every year! This race is not only fun but they also are great about giving to local charities. They have a program called "Run For It" where runners raise money for their charity. They usually raise around #1 million annually for the greater New Orleans area! Amazing! 

This week I had a little set back in my run streak. Don't freak out! The streak is still alive! But...I woke up one morning and it was raining really hard...and thundering and lightning. If it had only been raining I would have laced up my shoes and headed out there. But this runner doesn't run when thunder and lightning are part of the equation! Plus my hubby wouldn't have let me run even if I tried lol! 

So I didn't get to run that morning. And y' messed my whole day up! I felt off all day! Luckily after work...the rain was gone and I was able to get in my run! I enjoyed running in the daylight! And I wore shorts for probably the first time in forever! Y'all know I am a skirt girl! I liked the shorts alright....but I still LOVE my skirts!

I also got a super sweet surprise this week from my friend Andria! Y'all remember Andria? I used to run every long run with her...until she got a job promotion and moved to North Carolina! I miss her so much! But she sent me the sweetest gift this week! A Starbucks You Are Here mug from North Carolina!!!! I love it and will think of her every time I use it!!!

My coworker Holly blessed me this week as well! She brought me a piece of King Cake!!! I was super excited since King Cake is one of my favorite treats! And.... in my second bite was the baby!!! It's King Cake tradition that if you get the baby then you will have good fortune the rest of the year! It also means that it's my turn to bring the next King Cake!!! Good thing I have a trip to New Orleans (#RnRNOLA) in my near future!!!

Now it's time for Fitness Friday! I had a great week of runs this week! And one of them was a half marathon on Sunday! 

  • Friday- #plankaday 2:05, 2.26 mile run in 18:42 average pace 8:16

  • Saturday- 2.51 mile run in 20:23 average pace 8:08
  • Monday- #plankaday 2:05, 1.91 mile run in 15:53 average pace 8:19

  • Tuesday- #plankaday 2:05, 1.91 mile run in 16:03 average pace 8:24

  • Wednesday- #plankaday 2:05, 2.51 mile run in 20:33 average pace 8:11

  • Thursday- #plankaday 2:05, 2.06 mile run in 17:07 average pace 8:19

It was a great week of running! The weather was crazy...again! Cold to hot to cold!!! This week I have 5-6 miles on the schedule! It's officially taper time for Princess and RnRNOLA! I am running a 15K race next weekend though so it's a little longer distance than I'd normally run before Princess but we are doing it as a training run so it should be fine.
