Fitness Friday..and a Kindrunner Deal!

Happy Friday! I had a pretty busy week this week. I had my first job interview in 10 years on Wednesday. It's for a teaching position at a preschool. I feel like the interview went pretty well (I was so nervous!). They told me they hoped to have a decision made by next week. So we will see. I'm leaving it all in God's hands. I've been praying and am at peace with whatever decision is made. If I get the job then I feel like it's what God wants for me. If not...then I know He has something better out there for me! :-)

It's time for Fitness Friday! I'm here to tell you all about my runs and workouts this week!

  • Saturday- #plankaday- 1:06, 6 mile run in 1:08:12 average pace 11:22

  • Sunday- #plankaday- 1:01
  • Monday- #plankaday- 1:01, 1 mile run in 8:41

  • Tuesday- #plankaday- 1:03, 3.11 mile run in 30:06 average pace 9:41, push-ups for 1 minute

  • Wednesday- #plankaday- 1:01, lunges for 1 minute
  • Thursday- #plankaday- 1:31, 3.11 mile run in 30:00 average pace 9:39, squats for 1 minute

  • Friday- #plankaday- 1:00, burpees for 1 minute

If you noticed the 1 minute exercises...I am doing those as the challenge goal for this month in the Weekly Chase. I feel like my runs have been rockin' lately! I'm running most of my 5k's in the 9's and that's pretty awesome for me..especially in this heat! I know this speed is a result of the run streak...and I'm not complaining! :-)

Now I want to tell you about a promotion Kindrunner.com has going on right now! Remember when I told you all about kindrunner? You get custom fitted for shoes, get your new shoes in the mail, then return your old running shoes to kindrunner where they will be repurposed and sent to someone in need. The Kindness Has Begun!

Disclaimer: I am an ambassador for kindrunner.com. I will be doing campaigns involving product reviews and giveaways provided by kindrunner. As always all the opinions expressed will be mine and mine alone!

A few weeks ago I told you about my new ambassadorship with Kindrunner.com! Well the date has arrived...kindrunner.com has officially launched! The website is now live and ready for the kindness to begin!!!

Here are more details about kindrunner.com! What's cool is that no one else offers these features so it makes kindrunner.com a truly unique experience!

  • Confident Runner Pricing: This option is presented at checkout and rewards those runners that know exactly what they want. This option offers the shoe at a below retail price (but waives the free return shipping). Shipping of the product to the runner is still free as well as the return shipping of donated shoes for the Kindness Cash Rewards Program.
  • Free 3 Way Shipping: Free shipping of your order to you, free shipping if you need to return something, and free shipping of your donated shoes back to Kindrunner for re-purposing with Soles 4 Souls or The More Foundation Group.
  • Kindness Cash Rewards Program: This turns your old shoes into credit for new shoes or towards any other product on the site. KCRs are available to the customer after any footwear purchase. The purpose is to keep your old shoes out of the garbage and landfills. Once you receive the shoes you purchased, there will be the option to place your old shoes into the Kindrunner shipping box and place the pre-paid shipping label onto the box and send it back to Kindrunner. When Kindrunner receives the label they will scan it and add the KCR into your account. Each return label (whether it contains 1 pair or 4 pairs of shoes) that you send to Kindrunner is worth $10 KCR per new shoes purchased (5 pairs purchased on that order, you can earn up to $50 KCR) or credits towards future purchase. The KCR can be used to purchase anything on the Kindrunner website and will never expire!
  • Expert Product Reviews: Each and every product that Kindrunner sells will include an expert product review video. The videos are done by people who have worked in the running industry for years! Kindrunner is bringing the knowledge of a running store to the comfort of your home!
  • Easy 365 Returns: You have 365 days to return a product (no questions asked) as long as it is in its original condition and in its original packaging.
  • First 500 Customers Reward: This is for the early customers of Kindrunner! If you are one of the first 500 customers...you get FREE SOCKS FOR LIFE!!!!! Each time one of the first 500 customers returns and purchases a new shoe...their order will ship with a free pair of socks of their choice in Kindrunner's sock inventory!

I don't know about you but I LOVE all of these options at Kindrunner!!! But I think my most favorite part is knowing my old shoes will be repurposed and given to someone who needs them.

Be sure to check out the kindrunner.com website today! Check them out on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube too!

QOTD: What do you think about kindrunner.com?

Be a Kindrunner!

Disclaimer: I am an ambassador for kindrunner.com. I will be doing campaigns involving product reviews and giveaways provided by kindrunner. As always all the opinions expressed will be mine and mine alone!

The most important piece of gear in a runner's life is their running shoes. The running shoe can make or break you. If you don't have the correct one for your running gait it can result in injury. If your running shoes are too old it can result in injury.

So how do you find the perfect running shoe for you? Most of us go to a local running store. We get our gait analyzed. We talk to a running specialist who fits us in the correct shoe. We build a relationship with our local running store because as a runner we are going to need many pairs of shoes throughout our running career.

Is it always convenient to visit our local running store? Not always. Most of the time my two little boys are with me. It's hard for me to focus on anything but them when they are with me. Don't get me wrong...I've definitely taken them with me to my running store on several occasions. But in the midst of trying on shoes, talking to the running expert, and trying to decide on the perfect pair...I'm also having to tell them to be quiet, get out of the clothes rack, put those shoes down, stop running. It's exhausting! I'd much much rather shop online.

Sure...shopping online is easy when you know the exact running shoe you need. But what do you do when your favorite running shoe is discontinued? You can't ask your computer screen what shoe you need!

This is where kindrunner.com comes in.

On Friday I told you a little bit about Kindrunner.com. Today I want to tell you a lot more!

Kindrunner.com will be launching on June 1st. They are an online running store where you can buy shoes from expert running shoe fitters. The experts behind kindrunner.com are runners themselves with over 40+ years of experience in the running industry. They will be able to get you in the correct running shoe....and you can shop from the convenience of your home! They can also give you product guidance...still online! They will have product review videos too!

But the absolute best part about kindrunner.com is their effort to change the world for the better! Kindrunner.com is the only place on the web where runners can trade in their old running shoes for new ones. How? For every pair of shoes sent to kindrunner, the runner will receive Kindness Cash Rewards that can be applied to any product on the site. In turn, kindrunner will give your old shoes to their shoe donation partners that include Soles 4 Souls. Your old shoes will be repurposed and given to non-runners who need them for basic transportation and protection from disease and injury. People in places like Haiti and Africa will be given your old running shoes. Some will even be given to people in the US. It all depends on who is most in need. And the boxes and shipping material will all be recycled properly!

How many pairs of old running shoes do you have in your closet? Do you know it takes about 90-100 years for the average running shoe to begin to break down in a landfill? WOW! I had no idea! That definitely makes me NOT want to throw away my old running shoes!

Here are just a few of my old running shoes that are laying in my closet. Some of them still look fairly new. All that's wrong with them is that they have too many miles on them for me to continue to run injury free. But they would be perfect for a non-runner!

Another plus...free three way shipping! Kindrunner.com will ship your new shoes to you for free, you will ship your old shoes to them for free, and it's free shipping in case you need to return your new shoes. That's one huge plus for me! I love to shop online but hate to pay for shipping!

Kindrunner.com is already having contests! They are giving away a year's worth of running shoes to you and a running partner of your choice (3 pairs each)! To enter all you have to do is sign up on their email list (make sure your chosen running partner signs up too). Also, once they receive 500 likes on their Facebook page they are giving away a free pair of shoes to one of their followers! Who doesn't like free running shoes???

Be sure to check out kindrunner.com on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube!

Fitness Friday...May 10th Edition!

This week has been crazy! I've had a sick little boy on my hands all week. So that meant no run for me on Tuesday since he was so sick. I've also subbed 3 days this week! Luckily my in-laws were able to help me out and stay with Hayden while I worked. My poor baby had strep throat but he is feeling much better now! I was so happy to see this smile on his face yesterday! I haven't seen it in a few days.

Oh and just because he is sooo cute and has been super cuddly this week...I just have to share this picture of Cullen! He loves to sleep in my arms like a baby...and it was so cute when he was sound asleep with his paws up above his head! I just love him!

Here we are again for another Fitness Friday! As I said...I missed one of my runs this week due to Hayden being sick. Being a mom always comes first. But here's a recap of what I got done this week!

  • Saturday- #plankaday 1:05
  • Sunday- 7 mile run in 1:17:16 average pace 11:02
  • Monday- #plankaday 1:03
  • Tuesday- #plankaday 1:10, 25 burpees
  • Wednesday- #plankaday 1:03
  • Thursday- #plankaday 1:02, 3 mile run in 31:01 average pace 10:20
  • Friday- #plankaday 1:00

I didn't get one of my runs in this week but I can't beat myself up over it. Being a mom has to come first. I had to be there for my sick baby. I really hate it when they are sick and I can't make them feel better. I'm hoping to get some kind of long run in this weekend. I'm not sure how many miles I'm going to do yet...that's what I like about training. You always have a plan. I WILL run though...even if my long run is only 5 or 6 miles. :-)

I want to tell you about a new site called kindrunner.com! This is a new site that will officially launch on June 1st. Their goal is to be an expert running product specialist on the web...they want to bring the knowledge of a local running store online. The people behind Kindrunner are runners that have been in the industry for 40+ years so they know what they are talking about. Basically they are the only place on the web where runners can trade in their old running shoes for new ones. It works like this...you turn in an old pair of shoes and in turn you receive Kindness Cash Rewards for each shoe you turn in. You take the Kindness Cash and use it on anything on the site. Your old shoes that you turn in are sent to their shoe donation partners, including Soles 4 Souls, where the packaging materials are recycled and the shoes are repurposed and given to those in need in countries like Haiti and Western Africa and even here in the US.

Go check out the Kindrunner site as well as their Facebook page, Twitter, and Instagram! They even have a
contest going on right now where you and a friend can win free running shoes (3 pairs each) for a whole year! I know you'll want to check that out!

QOTD: What awesome workout or run did you have this week? What do you think so far about Kindrunner?
