This week 7 miles was on the schedule! I had plans to run with Jenny and her husband Eric. Eric is training for a marathon so he needed to run 17 miles that day. He ran the first 7 with us and then kept going!

The weather was perfect for running! It was in the high 40's. The wind was minimal. And the sun was shining! We decided since it was cool enough to start later than normal. I loved getting to sleep in some!

We also decided to run our favorite downtown route. It is an out and back route but there is lots of scenery so that makes it fun!

The run started out great! We had a goal to stay close to a 9:00 minute mile for Eric's sake. He had 17 miles to go and has been dealing with a calf injury so that was his happy and safe pace.

It was also a happy pace for me! Jenny and I just talked and talked the entire time! We were feeling great and not pushing too hard. I love getting to enjoy the long runs like that!

Before we knew it we had made it to 3.5 miles and our turn around point! It went by so fast! I loved running downtown and seeing all the Christmas decorations. When we came upon the Christmas tree we just had to stop for a quick picture!

And I just LOVE how puffy white the clouds were! It was such a gorgeous morning!!!

We made it to 7 miles in no time! And we did good with our pace...although we sped up a little.

Jenny and I stopped at my house and Eric kept going through the neighborhood. When he passed by us coming out of the neighborhood we gave him a quick drink of water and on he went! He had 10 more miles to go!

Jenny and I decided to go get Starbucks coffee and then find him and give him some Gatorade.

When we saw him next he was at mile 15! He was doing so great and running so strong! I know Jenny was super proud of him! He ran home...and ended up running 18 miles instead of 17! Wow!

It was a super fun run! And I loved hanging out with Jenny afterwards! And of course...Starbucks! ;-) So far this training is going great!!!

QOTD: What is your favorite treat after a long run?
