The Weekly Chase #153!

Hey everyone! So sorry this post is so late! We had the busiest weekend! We had to travel to Birmingham (about 4 hours away) for my son Sawyer's gymnastics meet that was on Sunday. The meet ran late and we didn't end up getting home last night until 10:00! So there was no time for writing my blog post. Thanks for understanding y'all!

My weekend started with some iPhone drama. Have you updated to the new iOS 9.2???? Well...I did on Thursday afternoon and my phone didn't like it. It started getting really hot and the battery started draining really fast. When I would plug it in to charge it it would take forever to charge! It took it an hour and a half to charge 20%! NOT COOL Apple!!! I took it in to Verizon on Thursday night. They reset the network settings but said if it didn't work then it was an Apple fix and I would just have to wait for their next update. Uh....WHAT? That could take forever! So since I was still having issues on Friday I called Apple Support as soon as I got home from work that afternoon. Well...I got the SWEETEST guy name Christopher to help me. I ended up having to restore my phone. But I was ok with that since I had just backed it up that morning (hello wonderful iCloud!). And just in case that didn't work...Christopher also made an appointment at the Apple Store for me. Well there is no Apple Store near me but luckily I was traveling to Birmingham for the weekend and there is one there. But guess what? The restore worked and I was able to cancel that appointment thank goodness. So Christopher from Apple Support??? I am so thankful for you!!!!

Once that was all worked out it was time for some family time. We ended up going to a Walk Through Bethlehem at a local church with some friends. It was amazing! It really made us stop and remember what Christmas is really about...the birth of Jesus! I am thinking this may be a new Christmas family tradition for us!

Saturday morning began with an 8 mile run with Jenny and Eric. I'll tell you more about that on Wednesday!

Then we headed downtown for our town's Christmas parade! They had tons of activities for the kids...crafts, visit with Santa, and a huge mound of snow for them to play in (yes we bring in a snow maker here on the Gulf Coast lol)! And the other thing....it was almost 80 degrees outside y'all!!!! Yeah...it was hot for a Christmas parade! But we still had fun!

Then we hopped in the car and headed to Birmingham for the rest of the weekend. And guess who came and rescued me from running the next morning in the hotel parking lot??? Kristin from Bama Girl Runs!!! I love this girl and was so excited she came to see me since I was in her area! We had a fun 2 mile run! And she had run a marathon the day before y'all! And still came and ran with me!!!!! So blessed!!!

She also rescued me from what I heard was awful hotel coffee and took me to Starbucks! We found out quick that we are dangerous together in a Starbucks...as we came out with not only our coffee but a new red cup coffee mug!!! :-)

After a super fun morning with Kristin it was time to head back to the hotel and get ready for Sawyer's gymnastics meet. My sweet hubby made me a waffle downstairs right before I came down so it would be ready for me. It was so yummy!

Then it was meet time! And guess who drove over to the meet and watched it with me the entire time?? My friend Leigh!!!! I am one blessed girl with so many great friends!!!

Sawyer did amazing at his meet! He has moved into a different age group though and there is a lot more competition. Poor thing didn't receive even one medal this meet. It was a hard lesson to learn. My heart broke for him when after the meet he burst into tears as soon as he saw me. I could tell he was trying to hold it back but the tears came when he saw his mom! Poor thing! But I am extremely proud of how well he competed. He's improved tons in the past year!

And he just loves his Coach and team mates!

When the meet was FINALLY over (it ran late by about 2 hours) we ate some lunch...at 4:30PM! Then it was time to head home. We didn't get home until around 10:00. Whew! Long and tiring but a wonderful weekend!

Now it's time for the Weekly Chase! It's a new week and I have new goals to achieve! I hope you will link up your own goals with me too! And feel free to use the badge below in your post too! You can grab the badge HERE! :-)
