Gulf Coast Half Marathon Training...Week 5!

Currently training for:
Gulf Coast Half Marathon
Senior Bowl Charity Run 10K
Battleship 12K
Double Bridge Run 15K
Disney Princess 5K
Disney Enchanted 10K
Disney Princess Half Marathon

This week my schedule called for a low mileage long run. I needed to do 6 miles. I opted to change it up some and run on Friday morning instead of Saturday or Sunday. I'm so glad I decided that because the weather ended up being pretty perfect! I woke up to a temperature of 71° and 75% humidity!!! It was like Christmas!!!

Some of my Sole2Soul Sisters were running their 6 miles at 4:30AM that day. I decided to run around 5:45AM by myself instead. This girl likes her sleep lol! But I did use their same route. It was a route I have run numerous times but they added in a neighborhood that I had never run in before. So I was looking forward to seeing some different scenery.

The run started out great! I could really tell that the humidity was lower. It made it so much easier to breathe. Before long I was in the zone.

And I really enjoyed watching the sunrise while I was running! It made the run even more enjoyable!

The streets were pretty quiet too. I didn't have to worry about a lot of traffic and that was super nice!

Before long I hit the halfway mark. I was having a great run!!!

And once the sun finally peeked over the trees it was spectacular!!!

It didn't seem to take that long...and then I was finished! Yay!

I always prefer to run my long runs with friends. But running by myself isn't all that bad. It gives me time to pray while I'm running. And I enjoy the scenery around me more when I'm not talking to friends. I needed this great run!

QOTD: Are you training for a race right now? Which one?
