Fitness Friday...October 23rd Edition!

Happy Friday!!! It's been a busy week. I've been on cloud 9 all week from my half marathon PR!!! I've also been starving all week lol! Running a half marathon makes me super hungry! But the hunger doesn't catch up to me until a few days after the race! Anyone else with this issue?

Monday was back to work after such an epic race weekend! My legs were pretty sore. But I expected them to be! After work I celebrated with a Starbucks Frapp of course!


I also had happy mail! My second Rocksbox came in! And I LOVE the new jewelry I got! In case you don't remember what Rocksbox is...it's a subscription jewelry service. Tuesday after school I met my favorite race director Mike at Starbucks for a meeting about a new race in my area...the Battleship 12K. This race is going to be a blast and I'm super excited about it. If you are in the Gulf Coast area...or even if you aren't...you should definitely think about running this one!


While I was at Starbucks, my favorite barista Marlon made me a sample of the Chestnut Praline latte and frappucino! So heavenly! It comes out November 1st...my birthday! I know what I will be getting with my free birthday drink!!!


Wednesday and Thursday morning was the boys' awards ceremonies at school. Sawyer made AB honor roll, perfect attendance, and his AR goal!


Hayden made AB honor roll and perfect attendance! I am one proud mama of my two amazing boys!!!

After school on Thursday I wanted a frapp...just because! And I was in for a surprise because the barista gave it to me for FREE!!! So sweet!


Now it's time for Fitness Friday! I reached day 500 of my run streak last Friday!!!! So exciting! My legs were sore at the beginning of the week from my race. But by the end of the week they started feeling normal.



  • Friday- #plankaday 2:05, 2.31 mile run in 19:18 average pace 8:22 (Day 500 of my run streak!!!!)

  • Saturday- 1.78 mile run in 14:40 average pace 8:14
  • Sunday- 13.1 mile run in 1:52:31 average pace 8:35
  • Monday- #plankaday 2:05, 1.56 mile run in 13:36 average pace 8:43

  • Tuesday- #plankaday 2:10, 1.78 mile run in 14:54 average pace 8:22

  • Wednesday- #plankaday 2:05, 1.76 mile run in 14:44 average pace 8:22

  • Thursday- 2.16 mile run in 17:28 average pace 8:04

My runs were great this week! I was so excited to reach day 500 of my run streak! Never in a million years would I have imagined I would be streaking this long! 

After my race my legs were sore. And I knew I needed some recovery time. So I ran shorter runs this week to give them a break. I worked those legs hard race day! They deserved some down time!

This weekend I'm not going to run a long run. But I am running a 5K race...the Turkey Trot. I do this one every year because the boys do it for cub scouts. And I love that each registration buys a turkey for Thanksgiving for a family in need.
