Fitness Friday and the Plan for This Half Marathon

Happy Friday! The week has just flown by for me! I don't know if it's because I am working every day again or I'm just getting old but the weeks just go by so fast for me now! This week was taper week for my 17th half marathon. I'm not sure by taper that they mean completely rest and don't run....but that's what I did. I'm so tired of this hip issue messing up my training! I've spent this week stretching and rolling. The hip feels great...until after I run.

So what's the plan for this weekend's half marathon? I'm still going. I'm still racing. But the goal has changed. No longer am I running for a PR. This race will be all about having a good time! My friend Paige and I are planning on laughing, taking lots of pictures, and just enjoying the course. We may not finish for 4 hours...but we are going to have a grand time doing it! We will be doing lots of run/walk breaks.

So...here's my Fitness Friday rundown. There are absolutely no runs. All I did was plank this week. :-(

I wish I could say that I ran this week. I wish I could say that my hip is 100% better. I wish I could say that I am going to rock this race. But I can't. I'm hoping next week will be better.
