Fitness Friday...November 8th Edition!

Happy Friday! It's been another busy week around here! I've had two appointments with Dr. Justin this week. He says I've made some progress but the knee and hip are still sore. He has told me to keep running through all of this but I'm to the point where I'm almost scared to run...I'm afraid of what it's going to feel like during and after. I'm ready to be all healed up! I've got the St. Jude Memphis Half on December 7th (the one I've fundraised for) and my training has been pretty much halted with these injuries. I also have the Pensacola Half Marathon this weekend....but I know the best decision is for me to NOT run this one. I'm afraid a half may do more damage. But I'm still going to the race...but as a spectator! Although I'm sure it's going to break my heart being there and not being able to run. :-(

This week the boys had another Cub Scout outing. All the scouts collected food for the Prodisee Pantry (the organization we ran the Turkey Trot for). We delivered the food to them on Tuesday night and helped them sort a little of it. I was so proud of my boys for participating in this!

It's Fitness Friday time! I'm not back in my running routine yet unfortunately. But I'm so ready to be.

  • Thursday- #plankaday 1:01, 2 mile run in 20:14 average pace 10:07

  • Friday- #plankaday 1:00

Dr. Justin wanted me to run this week but only 2 miles instead of my normal 3 miles. I could feel the knee when I was running but it didn't hurt too bad. I never had to stop and stretch. The rest of that day it felt wasn't any sorer than usual. The hip was fine during the run...I never felt it. It was a little tight the rest of that day but I didn't really notice it. So hopefully we are making progress. It's super frustrating to be injured!
