Talladega Travel Time!

As most of you know, I ran a half marathon this past weekend at the Talladega Superspeedway! We left on Saturday morning to travel the almost 4 hours to get there. Well...it was supposed to take 4 hours but it took us longer because we took our time and stopped along the way! :-)

My hubby Andy drove us! And Paige and her fiance Billy rode with us! Our first stop was for lunch...at one of my favorites...Subway! ;-)

Paige and I had a blast catching up in the backseat! :-)

Our next stop was at Priester's Pecans for dessert and coffee! We've always wanted to stop here but never have. The place was huge! They had an awesome gift shop! Everyone tasted some pecans (except me because I don't like them). And we got coffee.

Finally, after a car ride full of laughter and fun, we arrived at the place where we were staying for the night! It was a bed and breakfast place called Victoria Inn. It was GORGEOUS!

We enjoyed looking around while they checked us in. Unfortunately the breakfast didn't start until 6AM and we would be gone for the race already so we didn't get to experience that part of our stay.

Our rooms were on the third floor of this building!

The bed was a king sized bed. And we had a super pretty window! The room was super clean and perfect for our stay!

After about an hour of down time (and watching some football) we met Paige and Billy and headed to meet our friend Donna at her friend's house that lived there. Her friend was cooking us all spaghetti but a few of us don't like that so we picked up some pizza on the way. I love spaghetti but I opted for pizza since that's the pre-race meal I always eat! I didn't want to change anything up since I was hoping for that PR! We enjoyed our dinner and visiting with friends but before we knew it it was already 8PM and we were ready to get back to our hotel and get some rest.

Of course I laid out my flat Road Runner Girl! I have missed racing and these pictures! ;-)

The lights were out at 9:45PM! I was ready for some good rest! Stay tuned for my recap of the Talladega Half Marathon!!!

QOTD: What is your favorite pre-race meal?
