Fitness Friday...January 2nd Edition!

Wow! Can you believe it's already 2015? This holiday season has just flown by! I've had such an amazing time with my family. I can't believe reality starts next week. I'm not ready lol!

We didn't do anything wild and crazy for New Year's Eve. During the day we went with my friend Paige and her boys to a local restaurant that does a family event called Noon Year's Eve. At noon they drop beach balls! We'd never been and it was pretty fun but really really crowded. The boys had no chance to catch a beach ball...there were about 400 balls to about 3000 people. But we stopped by the Dollar Store on the way home and got them a beach ball...and we had some very happy boys! We then grabbed lunch and took it to the park. It was super chilly but I don't think the boys noticed lol!

Later that night we went to my sister's house to ring in the New Year. We didn't make it to midnight over there though. We came home around 10:30. We worked on some puzzles we have been doing during Christmas break while we waited for midnight. Even the boys made it! It was Happy New Year and then off to bed for us all! ;-)

Now it's time for Fitness Friday! The streak is still going strong! I hit 222 days yesterday! ;-) I think running everyday has helped my metabolism because even though I've been indulging way more than normal my weight has stayed the same. My calf is much better...not sure what the soreness was last week. Whew! Here's how my runs went this week!

  • Friday- 2.05 mile run in 17:09 average pace 8:22
  • Saturday- 1.31 mile run in 11:04 average pace 8:27
  • Monday- 1.36 mile run in 11:41 average pace 8:35
  • Tuesday- #plankaday 1:05, 2.07 mile run in 17:27 average pace 8:25

  • Wednesday- 1.57 mile run in 13:26 average pace 8:33
  • Thursday- 1.55 mile run in 13:35 average pace 8:46

The runs went great this week! My legs felt fairly strong...even after the tightness from my 7 miler. The planking didn't go so well though. I only planked once this week! Yikes! Gotta get back on that because I know it makes my core so much stronger and helps the running.

Tomorrow I'm running 8 miles for Rock 'n' Roll New Orleans Half training. I'm running with Andria and my Sole2Soul Sisters! It's been forever since I've run with a big group and I'm looking forward to it! I'm hoping my legs feel much stronger tomorrow than they did for last weekend's run!
