A Look Back on 2015!

2015 was an amazing year! It's so much fun to look back and see what all happened throughout the year!

In January I ran the Rock 'n' Roll New Orleans Half Marathon for the 5th year in a row! It wasn't a half marathon PR but it was a race course PR! And I had a blast running this one with my friend Andria!

In February we all traveled to the state capitol for one of Sawyer's gymnastics meets. The day before the meet we explored the city and had a blast!

February also brought a magical time at the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend! I ran the Glass Slipper Challenge for the first time! And I had gotten a lot faster running so it was amazing to experience runDisney in an earlier corral with no character lines! It was an amazing weekend!!!

March was a super busy but super fun month! It all started with the Seaside Half Marathon...which was also the weekend after Princess! I went into the race with no expectations and ended up with a new sub 2 PR! It was also an amazing weekend with two of my best friends!

I also traveled to Atlanta with my sister Christy one weekend. We went to see Wicked, my first Broadway play, at the Fox Theater! It was a fun sister weekend!

This month we also traveled to Huntsville for Sawyer's state gymnastics meet. While there we went to the Space and Rocket Center which we all greatly enjoyed!

The end of the month brought one of my favorite local races...The Azalea Trail Run 10K! It was during this race that a race walker stepped on my shoe and made it come off! That in turn caused me to literally run into Jenny! We ran the rest of the race together and even PRed! And we've been inseparable friends ever since!!!

April started with another one of my favorite races...the Crescent City Classic 10K in New Orleans! It was a fun weekend with my Sole2Soul Sisters! And another race where I PRed the 10K!

Then came Easter! We went to church with the whole family at Andy's parents' church. It was a fun day being all together!

This month brought Spring Break and we took a day trip to the Florida Caverns which Andy and I visited on our honeymoon 14 years ago!

This month also brought about my last half marathon race of the season...The Biggest Loser Half Marathon. It was a super super humid day and my hip was a little injured so I opted to run this one for fun. And I had a blast running with Jenny and Kristen!

May started with one last race of the season...the Fiesta 10K in Pensacola! Jenny and I ran it together and had a blast! Then afterwards I spent the day at the beach with Paige, Susanne, and Donna!

The end of May brought the end of the school year and my nephew Ronan Asa was born!

In June we enjoyed our summer vacation with lazy days and many movie days with Jenny and her kids! We also went to Disney World for a week with Andy's parents!!!

July was another amazing month because my best friend Stephanie and her kids came to visit us for two weeks!!! They live in California so we don't get to see them as often as we want to! We had so much fun those two weeks!

This month we also celebrated Hayden's 10th birthday! Wow!

August brought the start of a new school year. Hayden went to 5th grade and Sawyer went to 3rd grade! I was still teaching 4 year old preschool and assisting in the 2 year old class!

This month we also celebrated Sawyer's 8th birthday! Wow!

September was a month of getting back into the school routine. I also did a lot of running. And we spent a lot of time getting to know our new friends Kirstin, Jim, and their daughter Maddy!

October was such a fun month! I ran the Gulf Coast Half Marathon in Mandeville again and PRed my sub 2 half marathon time with Jenny!!! It was very unexpected. It was a tough race for me but so worth that PR!

I also PRed my 5K time in the Turkey Trot that we always run as a family every year. I ran the 5K and the family ran the fun run!

And of course I can't forget the fun of Halloween and Andy's birthday! We had friends over at our house to trick or treat and celebrate Andy's birthday. It was so much fun!

November was my birthday! I was blessed by so many friends with thoughtful gifts! And Andy planned a birthday lunch with friends and family to celebrate!

Later that afternoon I met Kirstin at Starbucks for my birthday drink and Marlon (my favorite barista) started singing Happy Birthday to me as soon as I walked in the door. He also gave me my drink for free (wouldn't let me use my free birthday reward) and made my frappuccino a trenta size!

I also ran the Battleship 12K race with Jenny this month and it was a blast!!!

Later that month we had a wonderful Thanksgiving at Andy's sister's house. Then Andy and I enjoyed our annual tradition of Black Friday shopping!

December was a super busy month of Christmas activities! The highlights included Andy and I going to see The Nutcracker!

And of course Christmas Day at our house with all the family!

It's been an amazing year! I'm so looking forward to what 2016 has in store for me and my family! Happy New Year everyone!!!
