Fitness Friday...September 6th Edition!

Yay for a 4 day work week! It made the week fly by! I was super busy at school this week getting ready for Grandparents Day (it's on Sunday). The three year old classes have "Grits for Grandparents" this morning where the child's grandparent comes to school with them for breakfast. The child also will present his/her grandparent with a little gift they made and sing them a song. It 's going to be super sweet!

Hayden also got a pretty awesome surprise this week! Under Armour sent him a new backpack for back to school! He loves it! And I think he looks pretty cute wearing it...but I'm a little biased too! ;-)

Last night my youngest son Sawyer tried gymnastics for the first time! He LOVED it! Sawyer does an amazing cartwheel and round off. He taught himself how to do these when he was about 3 years old. I've been trying to get him in gymnastics ever since but he refused to go. He has such a natural talent for it so I'm excited that he has finally decided he wants to do it! Maybe he will go to the Olympics one day!!!! :-)

In other news...I am super excited about this weekend! It is my sister-in-law's birthday and our family is staying out at the beach Friday night to celebrate her birthday! It's going to be so much fun! I am also hoping to get a run in on Saturday morning at the beach! Yay!

It's time for Fitness Friday! I'm ready to tell you all about my runs this week! I still do not like waking up so early for my weekday runs but I've been staying consistent with it. My body tells me to just stay in bed when the alarm goes off but I've been ignoring it and getting up and getting that run in!

  • Saturday- 7 mile run in 1:18:20 average pace 11:11
  • Sunday- Rest Day
  • Monday- #plankaday 1:12
  • Tuesday- #plankaday 1:05, 3.11 mile run in 30:56 average pace 9:57

  • Wednesday- #plankaday 1:05
  • Thursday- #plankaday 1:00, 3.11 mile run in 31:11 average pace 10:02

  • Friday- #plankaday 1:00

It was a great week of runs! My long run was tough due to a cold I was fighting but the rest of my runs have been great this week! I'm finally feeling a lot better...thanks to all of you for the get well wishes!!! :-)

Tomorrow I am going to attempt a long run at the beach. My schedule is calling for 8 miles but I'm not gonna worry if I can't get a full 8 in. I'm aiming to run at least 5. We will see how it goes. It's different running a long run in unfamiliar territory!

I hope you all have a great weekend! :-)

QOTD: Have you ever done a long run at the beach? Or in a new place? What was your best run or workout this week?
