The Weekly Chase #70!

The countdown is ON! Two more weeks of work and then it's summer vacation time for this teacher! :-)

How was your weekend? We had a great one! Friday night we headed to Pensacola to visit our cousins, Jason and Melissa. The boys had a blast playing with their cousin Hayley that they don't get to see very often. We also saw some of the flooding damage. Pensacola got it worse than we did. We drove by one of the neighborhoods that almost every house got flooded and where the people had to be rescued out of their attics that night. It was quite sad seeing those people's belongings that were ruined from the water like mattresses and torn out carpet on the side of the road.

Jason and Melissa took us out to dinner to a place called Hopjacks! We had french fries, brie dip, and pizza. I tried to eat reasonably but I also knew I needed the carbs for my long run the next day. I only had one slice of pizza, a handful of fries, and a two tablespoons of the brie dip. It was all really good!

Saturday I ran a solo 10K and then the family went to the Walk to Defeat ALS. It was a lot of fun! I'll recap both for you this week on the blog! Saturday afternoon we took advantage of the nice weather and rode out to the beach! I love living on the Gulf Coast! The water was very brown though due to the rain we had last week. But we still had a blast!

There were starfish (Sawyer likes to call them sea stars) washed up all over the beach and the boys loved seeing those! We also found an egg case (or mermaid's purse as Hayden informed me) that had washed up! Pretty cool findings!

After the beach we went out to eat at a Mexican restaurant. Then we treated the boys to some Krispy Kreme donuts. I know you are wondering....I caved and ate a donut. But because I had run AND done the walk that morning I had enough calories left for the day to indulge. :-)

Sunday was a day at home relaxing and getting ready for the week ahead!

Now it's time for another Weekly ChaseI'm ready to tell you all about my goals for this week! I hope you will link up your own goals with me too! And feel free to use the badge below in your post too! You can grab the badge HERE! :-)

Road Runner Girl

Here are last week's goals!

  • Goal #1: Run 3 times this week. Yes! I actually ran 4 times last week! Yay!
  • Goal #2: Roll and stretch daily. About 75%. I missed a few days of rolling and stretching this week.
  • Goal #3: Log and stay under all my calories this week. Every day but Friday. I went over my calories by about 79 calories on Friday night. But I knew I was carbing up for the next morning's long run.
  • Goal #4: Complete my last monthly calendar for school. Yep! I got this done on Wednesday when we were out of school due to the flooding.
  • Goal #5: Cook most of our meals at home this week. 90%! I had meals planned out for every night but one of those nights the hubby wanted to eat out.

Here are my goals for this week!

Goal #1: Run 3 times this week. I plan to run at least 2 short runs and a longer run this weekend.

Goal #2: Roll and stretch daily. I'm aiming for 100% on this goal this week! Gotta stay strong!

Goal #3: Log and stay under all my calories this week. I took some progress pictures this weekend and am loving the changes I am seeing in my body. (Sorry but I'm not quite brave enough to share my progress pics with you...maybe one day). Eating a certain amount of calories really seems to be working for me. I didn't lose as much weight last week (only .4 pounds) but I had expected that since the week before I had a 2.5 pound weigh loss. Hopefully when I weigh this week there will be a loss. Even though I had the calories for it I feel pretty guilty about eating those french fries and donut this weekend. :-/

Goal #4: Cook most of our meals at home this week. Cooking at home really helps me stay on track with my calories. Plus I love knowing exactly what I'm putting into my body.

Goal #5: Get in at least one family walk this week. I love taking walks with the family! It gets them out and active and it helps me burn some calories!

That's my plan for this week! Hope you all have a great week of chasing your goals too!

QOTD: What are your goals this week?
