Biggest Loser Half Training Week 1!

Currently training for:
Rock 'n' Roll New Orleans Half Marathon
Disney Glass Slipper Challenge
Seaside Half Marathon
Azalea Trail Run
Crescent City Classic
Biggest Loser Half Marathon

I don't have a ton of time to train for The Biggest Loser Half Marathon...it's in 4.5 weeks. Luckily I'm pretty trained for half marathons since I just ran two back to back. So this training shouldn't be too bad. Before the half though I have a local 10K race here that I run every year. Then I have one of my favorite races in New Orleans...the Crescent City Classic 10K! It's going to be a fun next few weeks of training and racing!!! :-)

This week I started with 8 miles. I ran with my Sole2Soul Sisters. They were all running 6 miles so my plan was to run the first 6 with them and then I would add 2 solo miles at the end.

The run started out great! I ran with Laura...who I haven't run with in a very long time! It was great running with her and catching up! We ran most of the first 3 miles just the two of us. We stopped for water and the rest of the girls caught up.

After the water stop I got to run with Laura, Christina, Jennie, and Cindy! It was so much fun running with a group again! It's been a while! So of course the next 3 miles went by super fast as we were having so much fun talking during the run!

I hated to see them reach their 6 miles because then I had to run 2 more on my own. But I turned on my music and got into a zone. The last 2 miles sped by! And I also got to watch the sunrise during those last miles! It was so nice to see the sun since it's been cloudy and rainy here all week!

I finished my 8 miles in 1:13:56! It was a nice and easy run that I greatly enjoyed since I've run so hard the past few weeks. :-)

Luckily when I finished my run, some of the girls were still there talking. I got to grab a quick picture with Laura and Christina! We were excited about this picture since we are 3 of the original Sole2Soul Sisters! :-)

I'm excited to be training again! I love having a goal to work towards! :-)

QOTD: Do you prefer training for a race or running just to run?
